Coliseum Mountain Tarn

We did this in August and it was a tough hike, took 14 hours round trip but so worth it!!! What amazing views and the lake at the top is great for a swim!!

Very intense hike. Took 14 hours in total. 2.5 hours to get to the trail head 5.5 hours up and 3.5 hours down and another 2.5 once we finished.

No bears or droppings, little snow, very cool icey/snowy pool at the top. 3L of water went fast, a water filter is useful. It was a great experience and a great test but I would not reccomend to anyone who isn't quite fit.

It' a huge haul to make it to the peak with overnight packs, but so worth it!

The sunsets are amazing and the sunrises spectacular. To the North and East you'll see nothing but snow capped mountains. To the south the entire city of Vancouver. I've never spent a night anywhere like it.

Cathedral Mountain is close by. As are a few larger lakes so water is available.

Pack light! The last 3km is steep and not for the faint of heart. If day-hiking is your thing you'll enjoy the workout too!
