Volker Park

Just a flat spot with a good view. Nice at sunset.

Nice little park with some swings and a small playground. Down side no bathroom and street parking only. You can park in the school and wall over

I walk my dog here regularly, there are usually other people or dogs, sometimes off leash. I very rarely see garbage or other things on the grass. Great park!

The reason this park is superior to most has to be it's simplistically expansive view of Westwood Plateau in Coquitlam. I can clearly view Eagle Mountain, and of course you can see Mt. Seymour glimmering with its bright snow-covered ski-hills illuminated by high-power lights at night. On most nights the lunar parameters are at just the right angle so you have a deep view of the mountains which run all the way along the coast of this Lower-mainland and a great Moon floating right above your preferal vision of you're facing North at night. This park is a photo-elitists dream for capturing sunrise and sunsets if you cannot make it to the mountains in time and want to make a quick stop in the middle of the city to setup a tripod and capture it. My partner and I got to enjoy a beautiful, (almost magic the mushrooms were so good,) meal that lead us to end our night talking about life at Volker Park during midnight just days ago. We witnessed another couple lurking off in the distance, just when we thought we were truly alone a glow-in-the-dark ball emerges, FLYING across our view, a few yipyap-woofs' and a trotting-dog later the couple finished up their game of fetch in the dark, continued on the path leaving the park, and we were once again alone to celebrate our most connected night we were having together. Something about Volker' is special. I recommend one to ask the native elder spirits for peace and bring tobacco to the area for a peace offering with the spirits and then once you have centred, set foot into the park and enjoy the land, the land loves you back if you act grand for her. She only wants you to put one of her flowers in her hair and water the rest, pick a women, get your children, and sit in this park. Love is love, goodbye.

The park is very quiet, not many people frequent outside of school pickup/dropoff times. It's a very large open park area great for kites on a windy day. The playground is smaller and for younger kids age 2-5.
