Dog Mountain Trail

Did last Saturday and enjoyed it a lot. Not a difficult trail while still lots of fun on snowshoes. Views were awesome but absolutely hated seeing so many dog poop bags. Maybe change the name to Poop Mountain because that's what it is becoming. Seymour is already considering banning dogs due to non compliance.

Excellent trail for all! I've die this trail multiple times for hiking and snowshoeing. The trail is well marked and beautiful. It's amongst trees, so the wind doesn't become a bother. Even in the winter, hiking this trail can be done in a few thin layers. However, at the scenic end, there is a clearing where the wind will really get you, so bring layers. The trail itself is interesting due to the extensive amount of tree roots and rocks as well as ups and downs that always keep you entertained.

Excellent views of Vancouver and Burnaby! Easy to get up there! 5he entire hike to dog mountain and back should be about 1.5 hours. There is quite a bit of elevation, but a very easy trail! Great for newbies and amateurs as well as seasoned hikers!

It's a pretty good trail, but the early bird gets the worm. It is just a chain of people on weekends. Parking is not easy to find after 8-830am on weekends either. Good luck!

This is a wonderful novice trail, easily accessible from the Mount Seymour parking lot. Simply drive up the hill and park, then walk to the end of the parking lot to access a map, which shows you the trail head is just a little up the ski hill on the left side. There's washrooms in the buildings at the parking lot too. It should take a novice hiker two hours, but I'd you're uncertain about your ability, just start earlier in the day to make sure you have plenty of daylight to hike out. An experienced hiker should be able do complete this trail in 60-90 minutes. The views at the end are certainly worth the hike!
