So many beautiful natural spaces to explore in all the different seasons.
One of the best hiking places just outside of the city.
Great for winter snow shoeing. Absolutely fantastic view at the top. Picture perfect everywhere. Don’t give up and don’t get discouraged by the foggy and cloudy sky. It will clear up like magic as you get to the top. Gear up for the hike with snow shoes and hiking sticks, wear waterproof clothing for sliding down after the hike. Don’t over dress, you will feel hot after only a short time of hiking.
Lovely hike to do for sunrise. Short enough to keep you motivated and long enough to make you feel accomplished. No technical skills are needed for this trail but moderate aerobic fitness would be good and some walking sticks to assist with the steep parts on the descent.
One of my favourite hikes for 2018. Started from the parking lot and took the small trail on the left side of the ski run. Trail was diverted about 1 km in and had to get back on the ski run for about 500 meters. The trail from this part on is a bit more elevation gain and some area you will need to use your hands to climb. Spectacular views from almost all areas of the trail. Once you get near the First Pump the landscape changes and has beautiful rocky areas. Did not make it the final 500 meters to the Mount Seymour peak as the dog rolled in and climbing was becoming more difficult for our dog. Bring lots of water and make sure your dog likes to climb over large rocks on the trail. Enjoy!
