Awesome place to walk dogs, especially on cooler sunny days when you don't want to be under shade trees.
It's a nice walk with lots of space but it's very open. On hot days I suggest walking somewhere with trees and shady areas.
It is a fairly nice walk for the city. You can see a variety of birds ???? and possibly a beaver or coyote. The trail is well groomed gravel and quite flat depending on where you enter from. There aren't any trees and you can still see and hear the city but there is water.
I love this beautiful park. On any given day you can see so many different species of birds on your walk. Sometimes you can see the odd coyote or muskrat. Dogs are permitted on leash. The walking or bicycling is great for all fitness levels as it is quite flat.
There is a lovely Community Garden to look at but don't pick or trample on any produce as these are privately tended gardens with a lot of work and care put into them. The park has a washroom and picnic tables near the large parking lot. It is beautifully maintained as a Metro Vancouver Park.
Very interesting little spot with an equally interesting group of staff members. Lots of eclectic healthy food, but if you get a chance talk to these people about what they are doing here. I'm sure you'll be surprised as it's not your average chain. Definitely check it out.
