“Very friendly staff and very fresh fish...we ended up getting some fresh salmon and shrimp and a very reasonable price. It can be quite busy on the weekends in the morning, but it's a nice way to spend the morning just enjoying the atmosphere and the water and then grab a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants. Also there's usually free street parking.”

“I would like to first clarify that I had a very enjoyable evening and the service was excellent. The food, though really good, didn't blow my mind as I hoped it would. The sashimi was fresh and the pacing and balance of the menu was good - however, I felt it lacked that extra something to push it into the upper echelon. Personally, it didn't live up to the hype - perhaps an indictment of my own expectations that were risen to lofty heights by my friends. Regardless, definitely worth the experience and I encourage everyone to give it a try at least once!”

“I went there last night with my family for dinner. My wife and I ordered burgers while my kids had meals the kids menu. The burger were amazing. The kids menu fish and chips are huge portions and so was the kids menu pasta. The service was amazing. She was attentive and great with kids. I would definately come back and I recommend the Kove for a great burger!”

“This place serves both Malaysian and Thai food. We ordered the satay chicken which is very tender, the roti and to Yam soup are also very good. But the red/green Thai curry are not very spicy nor very flavourful. Price is reasonable so will probably come again to try something else”

“Do not be fouled you need to try this place! Really good pizza even though the place is not really upscale in any way shape or form! You order your pizza in one tiny corner pizza shop but you may not find any seating there as there are only a couple chairs so one needs to go next door to eat their pizza in a ordinary looking sitting area! You will find paper plates next door but no cutlery to cut your pizza with! 8 on 10 rating just because of the overall look not the pizza!”

We were in a bit of a rush but he did everything possible to aid in getting us settled up and out the door. Our food had to be packed up but I guess in the rush they forgot cutlery and napkins which made eating in the car a little bit difficult. Nice view, great service and average food.”

“The Shady Island is a must-visit restaurant in Steveston. Whether it's inside (cozy, welcoming), or outside on the patio (great views), you have options. One of the most popular items there is fish & chips (cod, salmon or halibut), and that alone is worth the trip out there, but they also have a clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl that is rich and flavourful. In general, their menu is well rounded with burgers, pasta dishes and some really decadent desserts. Service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended stop while in Steveston!”

The mussels, clams, and other seafood are always a good choice as well. I've never had bad service, and I enjoy the ambiance. I live almost an hour away so I don't go often, but if I lived close by I'd probably visit more.”

“Service was a bit slow, but friendly enough. I think the bottleneck came from the kitchen. The manager, James, came out and gave us updates on the food. He also made up for the slower service by offering toys to my kids. This place is definitely kid friendly. Servers were staffed by highschool/college types, but not pros, but at least our server put in the effort. Food was tasty.....not exactly healthy, but tasty. You don't go to a fish and chips place and expect healthy. We ordered the Fish and Chips platter, which came with Cod. Halibut salmon, oyster, prawns and calamari. All decent portions and all very well cooked and tender under the coating. Reasonably priced for what you get. Fantasic view.”
