First time here and it’s an easy A based off of our dining experience! Service was nice and pleasant and the waitresses were genuine and not overly “server fake” (you know the type… awkward forced laughter and their suggestions are always the most expensive item).
Tianna and her training staff (Amanda I think? Sorry I forgot the name!) were very kind and honest with their recommendations. I asked how the roasted garlic and habanero chicken drumsticks were and she said they were great and a hot item - she was not wrong they were DELICIOUS! We caught happy hour and those came out to $10. I misunderstood the item and thought they’d be little drumettes but they were 3 drumsticks. Overall odd plating (not on the chefs or anything it’s just hard to make drumsticks look “fancy”). The meat was so tender and perfectly seasoned. Highly recommend this dish! I do wish they had wetnappies as the sauce is sticky and can be cumbersome heading to the bathroom with chicken fingers haha. The shrimp po boy was HUGE. It definitely reminded me of a codwich and it was just really well battered and filling. We got the hot chicken Caesar salad and was satisfying! My aunt ordered the spaghetti bolognese and it’s just great comfort food. The meat sauce is delish and aromatic and a fair serving for its price.
Overall it’s a big 5 out of 5 for me! Another addition which would be nice is validated parking or a portion towards it. You can park in the undergoing parking spots at Brentwood (as there’s a lot of construction going on that has cut out the free outdoor parking) so it would be nice if they could maybe put $2 towards it or some gesture of spend X and get X towards parking (as I know people can park there for movies/shopping/visitors etc).
Had a great experience at R&D Kitchen! The food is great and prices beat the other upscale casual chains, like Cactus Club or Joey. The Gochujang burger is excellent, happy hour prices were awesome and the drinks were tasty & well priced. Our server, Corina, made the experience particularly good. She was very attentive and went above and beyond to ensure we ordered something we’d like and that we were well taken care of. I look forward to returning.
Classic white spot place. Amazing friendly staff! Decent choice of menu items, We were in a group of 6. Pizzas are ok (wouldn’t recommend them), coconut shrimps were nice but the same as in VIP Cineplex (frozen, fast food style), and the Bacon Cheddar burger was good but had average fries. Beers and iced teas were terrific. A good place to chill and have some drinks; expect good service but decent menu items in choice and taste but at a premium price.
I was in the neighborhood and decided to drop by R&D! I was very happy with my experience, the staff were friendly and personable and the food was great!
I specifically chose everything exclusive to this location.
The Louisiana fried chicken burger was really good, it has a kick to it but not too over powering. It was hot temperature wise when delivered, moist and not over cooked.
The Canadian old fashioned was really nice, it's a Crown Royal harvest rye with maple syrup and bitters. It was smooth and went down pretty easy. I loved the giant ice cube, kept it a perfect temp as I nursed it over lunch.
The s'mores brownie for dessert was lovely. I could have done without the raspberry coulis but I did enjoy the raspberry coulis with the whipped cream so I'll take that as a side dessert perk. The brownie itself with marshmallow and Graham crackers was soft, gooey, melt in your mouth chocolatey goodness.
I'll be back, the mango prawn caesar salad and their sorbet with grilled pineapple is calling me back already.
The food is really stand-out, and our server was delightful. Best sweet potato fries I think I've ever had, a bit flat to allow a crunchier surface area without being gummy like sweet potato fries can be. The baguette for the po-boy sandwich had a thin crunch on the outside and a nice sourdough texture inside. Just the right amount of resistance when taking a bite. Several vegan dishes, too. Will definitely return and try different plates. There were so many great choices it was hard to decide what to order.
