I went to this restaurant before covid around December with a bunch of my friends. The food was delicious and the service was absolutely amazing. I don't remember my servers name but we all bonded through the fact that we're from the prairies. Would highly recommend going here. My favorite restaurant.
This place knows how to take care of their clients. Regularly with a kind demeanor. The food is fairly priced, regularly delightful and neat.
This is a great Italian restaurant with very high quality tasty food. I've been driving by it for several years but only when they were closed. They have pleasant well experienced servers who are very familiar with the menu. We started with the calamari and appetizer plate. We ordered bruschetta and 4 different pastas. We also shared 3 desserts among us.
Nice and friendly staff, very good food. Lasagna was the best one we ordered, very soft dough, tasteful, prepared to perfection.
We saw that they recommend making a reservation before going but we tried to book a table and there wasn't any available. Add we were close by, we decided to go and check. It was a Saturday night, around 7pm and it wasn't busy. So, I'm not sure if we were lucky or if the reservation system doesn't work well. I suggest calling first to check if you want to go and could no book a table. :)
So I finally made it to the Poor Italian after years of passing by on the way to hwy 1. The reservation process through google is enabled and is super effective with its reminders and even directions when it's time to go. There was ample parking and our table was in a good spot allowing some view into the mountains. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Nice ambience and well equipped restaurant. We order several starters to share and two main dishes. I ordered the grilled calamari based on the many reviews and found it to be an excellent choice. We ordered the carpaccio which was came well presented and very tender and flavorful. The starters we ordered were both pastas which also came in generous portions and very tasty. The tortellini was slightly on the dry side. I would certainly come again to have some more of the calamari and explore their other dishes. It is slightly on the pricey side but quality, service and portions fully justify. I would give them a rating 4.5 stars. Thank you for a nice meal Poor Italian Team.
