Great produce, awesome baked goods, fresh preserves and fresh goats cheese. They also serve lunch, and have a B&B on site. Great place to stop before hitting the pass towards Vancouver.
I recently stayed at Tree to me, the room was very nicely decorated and laid out. Everything in it worked, the only difficulty we had was the screen door, it was ripped at the bottom and up one side. It would have been nice to sleep at night with fresh air in the room but since that was the only opening we could not.
The bathroom had soap, shampoo and conditioner supplied along with a hair dryer. The soap was very nice in your skin, however there was 2 of us and only 1 soap, about 1 inch x 1 in, and 1/2 inch high, it did not last for two people for the a,punt of time we were booked for, of course you could buy more in his market.
The breakfasts were very good, a bowl of fresh fruit, pastries baked on-site and delicious egg meals with toast and homemade jam. Fresh made juice was available, ( the same every day, perhaps the flavour was not to everyone’s liking, but good), as well as coffee and tea.
We had booked the entire place for a family event, each room booking being made by the person suing it, at no time during the bookings were any of us told that we could not have other family members up to our rooms or on the balcony for family gatherings. We learned this only after all our credit cards had been charged. Guests were only allowed in the main tea room, which closed at 5, had limited seating and we would have to buy whatever we wanted to drink. We could also sit outside with our family which had limited seating and much of it in the hot sun.
One of our family specifically, at time of booking, requested a room with 2 beds, and a balcony as 1 person smoked. They were given a room with I bed and a pullout couch which made the persons back sore. They were also informed that there was no smoking ANYWHERE on the property. Given that smoking info was made known at time of booking , the rules should also have been made know at that time.
Their website talks about a fish pond being available to guests, the fish pond area has not been well maintained, the water is covered in scum, there are no chairs to sit on even if it was enjoyable to look at.
For physical condition of the rooms I would give them a 4 rating, there was no broom or vacuum and we were there from mid day Thursday to mid day Monday. I had dropped peanuts on the floor and they were still there when we left.
For breakfast I would also give them a 4 out of five, not everyone wants eggs each day. I did certainly enjoy the baking.
The owner is running a farm, a fruit market, a craft and art sales gallery and a tea room type of restaurant, it is not your typical B&B. He needs to explain his rules when people book, not after they have checked in and he has charged their credit card.
Clean, quiet rooms (kitchenette) with a homemade breakfast reminiscent of a full Irish breakfast. Homemade scones, fresh fruit cup, homemade jam, fresh squeezed juice, delicious egg scramble and hot coffee. Well taken care of. Relaxing, fresh, and clean.
Returned on our way back through for sandwiches at their cafe, complete with homemade bread. Delish! Left with peaches picked fresh off their trees.
It was everything perfect ~^^
As the daughter of a traditional french baker, I can tell it is the best bread I had in the area! Thanks to get rid of my frustration by being here! A bit pricey tho...
