“I wanted to leave Vancouver for a peaceful getaway to recharge and man was this perfect. Nicole was very attentive in getting me set up last minute when an air bnb cancelled on me the morning of the reservation. The location in Gillies Bay is on the eastern side of the bay, perched on the hillside over the water looking across the strait to Courtenay/Comox on Vancouver Island. The place was my kind of quiet, with nothing but the sound of the water on the rocky beach below (with a private pathway down from the cottage) and a few ducks quacking at the sunset. Less than a 5 minute walk down the road is the general store which has just about everything you could possibly need, including movie rentals, butcher's counter, and a surprising liquor selection. The cabin itself has all the modern comforts including a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and heating system, loads of seating in a spacious living room replete with games and entertainment. There are two bedrooms, one with a king, one with a queen, and a loft with two beds for the kiddies if you have any of those tagging along. Highly, highly recommend the place and I will be checking in here first if I'm back on the sunshine coast any time soon. Thanks Nicole!”

“This beautiful log cabin is located right on Gilles bay and is a wonderful location for sunsets, beach walking, paddleboarding, and swimming. The general store is a 10 minute walk. The owners are organized and great to deal with. The cabin itself is very charming and clean. There are modern kitchen amenities, a cozy wood stove, loft and a large deck with a hot tub overlooking the ocean. The small beach cabin lower on the beach was great for older children. We had lots of fun hiking, biking, berry picking, exploring the island, visiting a farm and the farmer's market. We look forward to our next trip to the Sand Dollar Log Cabin.”
