Superb park. Elfin lake is a beautiful destination steps away from squamish
Gorgeous and fun hike all year round!
23km is not that far if you have lots of friends! But good shoes is needed for sure. The view at top is OK but not stunning good. Good thing is there is a small chamber you can stay. I didn’t go in there so I can’t commend on how good is it. Some photo credits to my friend Ardis.
This low intensity hike gets you into stunning panoramas, heather in July and mounds of wild blueberries later in August. The first of the lakes rewards your hike with a beautiful dip (the water is not too cold). You can continue on to Mamquam Lake, book in overnight at a tent pad or in the hut. The park road is very rough so go slowly!
Beautiful hike, make sure you hike this on a clear day to see the great views from the last half of the trail. This place is no joke though, make sure you have adequate gear, water and fitness since it's 3 hours and 11kms each way. Also you need to pay online to use the trail, extra to sleep in the cabin at the lake. Lots of people just pack a light backpack and stay in the cabin (run by the park rangers), sleeps prob 20+ people.
