Fantastic place for swimming and recreation. The views are spectacular and the people are very friendly and law abiding. We noticed that it’s very family friendly, which we were not expecting. There’s a separate section for dogs which is great because we’re not much into swimming with stranger dogs.
Something to note is that if you pay attention to the wildlife underwater, you will notice tiny fish that are not shy to swim up to your feet, which I enjoyed a lot since it was my first time noticing fish that interact with you and not swim away!
Overall, very positive experience with lots of views and clear calm lake for swimming and paddling.
Beautiful views!
Gorgeous views, clean clear water, open grassy areas and even a separate dog beach...I gave it 5 stars and so did my dog. Two things I would caution you on one parking can be a bit challenging. The second is be bear aware, we did see a black bear in the area of the railway tracks on the way to the beach... so put your trash in the proper bins and keep your dogs on leash until your in 'barking bay'.
Fantastic park. Lots of green space, several volleyball courts and a great walking/biking path. There's a separate area for having dogs of leash as well.
Everything is kept really clean. Coming before 10am on weekday will guarantee you can choose your spot.
Water is pretty cold though and there isn't that much sand on the beach, but it's still really nice.
Large open green space, great mountain views and fresh water for a swim. Perfect for a social distanced picnic in the park or even a couple of low key beers. Parking can be challenging during peak times like Saturday and Sunday afternoons when the weather is good. But basically it's a park. Have fun.
