Looks like this would be a great place to come enjoy the nice weather. But as you can see nice weather was not the case for this particular trip. The view regardless of weather is spectacular to say the least. Unfortunately our sightseeing was slightly inhibited by one then two border patrol police keeping a watchful eye on us. What did they think, we we're going to run across the ice to escape? Or maybe catch a cpl escaping sliders from across the pond? I know, they were just doing their jobs. Upon leaving we drove out of the way to drive past them vigorously waving and smiling like a cpl idiots. Was a bit disappointed when they didn't wave back. But dont worry NC i had a Georgia tag. Will return in the summer to see the beauty of Lake Huron.
It's my favorite spot to got to during the summer and I love to look out at the water in the winter
The reason I'm giving it a 3 star rating is for following reasons. 1st reason is the price they are charging non residents. For non residents its $20 per day, without the ability to pay at discounted rate for the whole year. While the residents are only paying $5. To me its price gouging and there shouldn't be such huge gap for residents and non residents. The 2nd reason is the big stones and rock's that are in the water as soon as you get in. They are way too big, and for smaller kids who are trying to stay in shallow water, they are unbearable. Even for the adults just to go past that point its challenging. The owners need to do better job at removing majority of the stones and try to keep it more on the sandy side as the rest of the water. If those issues were fixed, I would've given it a 5 star for sure. I hope the management looks at this, as it's been the issue for the last few years.
I grew up on the south end of Port Huron. I live in Kimball Twp now and I'm still here. So that should say something but I'm not sure cuz I hate the cold. But love the beaches.
