“Great little museum about the Port Elgin area. Very well done, friendly staff and some pretty interesting exhibits about the local history. The exhibit on Fort Gaspereau/Fort Monckton is excellent and you can follow it up with a visit to the fort site, just a couple of minutes away. Well done Port Elgin!”

“I just enjoy military history and any Canadian history in general. My biggest disappointment with Fort Beausejour was the lack of information on site. The museum was closed due to Covid which I understand, but the plaques around the grounds were only minimally informative compared to other sites I've visited. However we were lucky to meet an amazing lady from Parks Canada who was doing her tour around the grounds and she was very friendly and informative. I just wish our federal government would put more resources into preserving this Heritage and history we are fortunate enough to still have fragments of”

“Sooo much fun learning about the past. This was the house of a wealthy couple, and finding out how they lived and how we live is surprising. Their extravagance is our normal.”

“Neat museum recounting the history of the acadians from the area, with exhibits, information panels, and artifacts. It was interesting to refresh my memory on the subject as we visited the Maritimes. Several of the technology elements were not working (ex., phones for audio). There were free postcards available at the exit. Admission includes access to the art gallery in the same building. There were washrooms and water fountains available. Parking is paid on campus.”
