Beautiful spot!
Amazing little walk, peaceful and lots of birds
Nice place to take the kids and enjoy nature. :)
Crazy flooding now! The boardwalks are nearly covered even though they were raised. When you get to the Shoreline , in the picture above there is a pretty large area of dry land that is Rock before you get to the water . that doesn't exist at this moment, as the water level has definitely raised more than the four inches that the papers have claimed! LOL I did not take any pictures, and I'm bummed out about it. When I go back next week I will post some because it is still amazingly flooded. Before you could walk on the Rocks 20 feet out. Now the water is at the edge of the Dunes! My daughter and I walked down there to check out what the damage might be , and the black Pond Inlet is now just a part of Lake Ontario ! I couldn't believe it ! wow
I love this park-- it's really a beautiful hidden gem on the Ontario landscape. You have to hike in along some boardwalk bog trails to get to the beach, but once you're there, its a beautiful endless sand beach.
It's also a bird preserve, so check season hours to be sure you can walk along the beach and visit areas outside of the beach area. There's no life guard, so you can actually swim far out in the lake, which is nice. But the beach is patrolled during bird nesting seasons so that nobody disturbs the birds.
It's a carry in carry out park, so please respect the rules and don't litter or trample dune grass or be an all around ignoramus when visiting this nice little slice of nature.
