Absolutely perfect and spacious rooms that are well-appointed, and the hosts, Art and Martha couldn’t be more gracious! Highly recommend!
Recently my wife and I had the pleasure of staying 3 nights at the outstanding and unforgettable Grand Oak Manor Bed & Breakfast built between 1760 and 1790. The preservation of Nova Scotia's first licensed inn is amazing, a long with the highly documented history. The owners, Art and Martha are very outgoing and share their knowledge and information about the local history, things to see, and experience. The entire Manor is decorated and furnished as they were in the day. The breakfasts provided each morning were different, delicious, plentiful, and prepared in the original kitchen by the owners.
The Grand Oak Manor, also known as the "Entertainment House" is situated along the Annapolis River across from Annapolis Royal which represents vast amounts of history since the 1630's, starting with the French and the continuing battles with Great Britain to claim possession of the area. There are many interesting options for the visitors in the area. The location is also convenient to the Bay Ferries that run from Digby, NS and Saint John. NB.
During our travels around Annapolis Royal, we came upon the small local park "Upper Clements Picnic Park" on Route 1 between Annapolis Royal and Upper Clements. At the bottom of the drive, there is a small parking lot and a path that will lead you to a very tiny beach that you can sit in your chairs and watch the incredible tide appear to change about 8-10 feet. Good luck.
We truly appreciated the attention given to us and the other guests by the owners. They sincerely enjoy being your host and hostess. We graciously recommend a stay at the Grand Oak Manor, Grandville Ferry. Nova Scotia.

This B & B was a lovely experience! The suite was lovely, spacious, thoughtfully supplied and decorated. The breakfast was fantastic, as were the treats when we arrived. We enjoyed our friendly hosts and hearing the history behind the historic home and the incredible oak tree in the front yard. Highly recommend a stay in this home!
Martha & Art are so naturally welcoming. We spent 2 nights and it was truly a home away from home. The breakfast was all homemade by Martha and the rooms were huge with tons of character. Don’t miss out on this b&b!
Art and Martha were extraordinary hosts for our stay at the Grand Oak Manor. We arrived mid-evening and were greeted with offers of fresh coffee, tea and cold beverages. Martha provided an extensive tour of their historic home and even coerced us (actually me) into playing a new board-game before we turned in. Our room (Thomas) was very comfortable and well equipped. The room included an ensuite bath.
Art had a steaming mug of coffee ready for me on my descent to the ground floor in the morning. Our breakfast was unbelievable! Fresh fruit, warm croissants, homemade preserves and yogurt. Then Martha brought out an amazing bacon, broccoli, onion and cheese quiche, piping hot, right out of the over. I can honestly say, it was the very best quiche I ever tasted. We enjoyed breakfast and conversation with another couple staying at the Grand Oak; this is what B&Bs are all about.
Just before departure, Martha entertained us, playing an antique pipe organ ... pure magic.
Nothing but positive comments about the Grand Oak Manor and hosts, Art and Martha. Highly recommended!
