My daughters gave me a Christmas trip last year to Nova Scotia. We had lived there when they were young and I fell in love. We moved back to Ontario but my heart is there. I love Peggy's cove so we booked a lovely cottage at McGrath's Cove and went there
the last of May 2022. We visited Ryers Lobsters at least 3 times that week for fresh lobster and mussels. AMAZING. We have talked about them many times since. Yesterday, UPS showed up at the door with a box and I was surprised with an early Christmas present from my daughter of fresh lobster and mussels. She cooked everything with the supplied instructions for the seafood and it turned out perfect. Memories came flooding back again. The people at Ryers are great to talk to and deal with. Very patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. Lobsters still stirring around in the well gel packed styrofoam box as they arrived. When the order was placed they still had to harvest the mussels. It doesn't get any fresher. We had a delicious feast thanks to folk at Ryers.
Enjoyed the buying experience. They took time to talk to us about their lobsters and the differences between male female and sizes. Showed us some of their unique ones they've kept that aren't for sale. Had a large variety to choose from. Would go again
Stopped in today and bought 6 1.5 lbs lobster, and some bacon rapped scallops for tonight’s supper. The owner was very helpful and also showed us a “blue” shell lobster. The price per lb was very reasonable.
The two people (owners?) who helped us were angelicly friendly and good conversation. My group of three wanted eight small lobsters, and we were given a 9th for free! Absolutely lovely place. Later that day we boiled them with seawater and they were delicious. I love the look of their shack and which I had spent more time looking at the lobsters.
Although all over the internet it says that they served cooked lobster they no longer do due to regulations. It's very unfortunate that they have been forced to stop serving cooked lobsters but fresh ones are available for the purchasing!
