Mike's ebikes was so much fun. Taking a ebike after walking a round of golf was a great idea. The trail is beautiful and I would highly recommend!!
What a pleasure to meet Mike! Great guy! We had an amazing ride along a beautiful trail! Stopped for a latte and cinnies (mini cinnamon buns) in Mabou. It was raining but it was still worth the ride! Very easy and lots of fun!
Lisa and I rented Mike's e-bike on a Saturday in June of 2023. Good - bikes are in absolute best nick, helmets are provided and required to rent, trail is a ton of fun, easy to navigate and has amazing views all the way along. You can also ride into Mabou and grab some lunch, and ice cream or a coffee while on your 3 hour bike ride. Bad - When we stopped in earlier that day and enquired about the cost he mentioned to us that "cash" would provide a small discount. Completely understand as Credit Card Charges reduce the amount the business owner is paid. However when we returned later to rent, with cash, no discount was provided. So a bit of a "mainland" move if you ask me. Otherwise, this would have been a 5-star review.
AMAZING day e-biking with Mike!!! Due to the ravaging forest fires in Nova Scotia, as of this morning, all trails have been closed to recreational activity.
Mike pivoted, and took us on a private tour on side roads through this magnificently beautiful part of Cape Breton.
Mike lead us to to the pristine West Mabou Beach. Then to Murphy’s Pond harbour where we met and chatted with lobstermen Edgar, Robbie and the boys.
We then cycled through the town of Port Hood, and had a phenomenal lunch at Clove Hitch Bar and Bistro. We had one last stop at the horse race track on our way back to Mike’s rental shop.
The scenery was incredible, the ride was exhilarating, and we saw things we would never have found on our own. Yet the best part of the adventure was meeting Mike, and all the warm, engaging local Cape Bretoners.
Thanks Mike!!!
What a great experience! After a quick tutorial we were on our way. The trail is beautiful with lots of places to stop and take pictures or just sit on a bench and enjoy the view. At a certain point you can make your way downtown to The Red Shoe pub which is owned by the Rankin sisters and enjoy a bite to eat and a pint of beer. There is also an ice cream truck if you'd rather although it was closed for the evening ride. Mike is a super host with lots of knowledge of the area. If your passing through I would highly recommend hopping on an ebike for a few hours and taking in the scenery. Thanks Mike!
