“This place is one of the nicest campgrounds in North America. The pine forest there is well maintained and beautiful to walk through during a stay there. It's a family run business that has been operating since the late fifties I think and the owners are very accommodating to reasonable requests and run a tight ship. My family and I enjoyed a visit so much that we put a permanent seasonal trailer in there. Your kids will love this place.”

“My family and I have been to South Mountain several times over the last 8 years. We've always enjoyed our experience there and our kids always left happy. This year we felt we were ready to be seasonal campers and South Mountain was the place we wanted to be. Scott and Kim made that happen for us and we are beyond excited. Hands down the cleanest and best campground for kids, we love it there.”

“The site is mainly geared at RVs, my review is related to tent sites. The sites are flat and sheltered from the morning sun, but they are right on the main road which is loud at time. There is no electricity outlets available to inflate your air mattress and the trash box is far away. There are no washing station for utensils and pots, but there is one tap on a post. There is a washroom facility with a tiny shower. There isn't much ventilation in there. There isn't much space to dry yourself without touching the wet ceramic walls and it will cost you 4 quarters to operate the shower. At $43 for a basic tent site, the need to go find quarters to use a shower is a quite frustrating.”

“I went in about 3 KMS in and wished I had more time to keep going. There were several beautiful sites to look at along the way. The river runs parallel to the trail. There are beautiful old trees. Rock wall formations - you can tell the locals take care of this spot! Mushroom species were discovered. A great fishing spot. Several spring run offs coming down off the hillside. It's a great 'pick me upper' hike and to get out of the everyday rut.”
