We stayed in the Harbourview room, which is really two rooms. We LOVED having a separate sleeping room and living/bathroom. The location is within the Lunenburg historic district and within walking distance to everything there. Kaulbach House is historic and charming on the outside, but the inside has a more modern charm. The modern bathroom; coffee machine in the room; and great wifi were much appreciated. Our hosts were friendly and easy to talk to and the breakfasts were ample fuel to start the day. You could see the harbour from our living room and there was a great sea breeze through the window. We definitely would stay here if we ever visit Lunenburg again. We were on a road trip, so also appreciated the convenient parking in the back.
My wife and i had a lovely 2 night stay, during the folk harbour festival. Our room was beautiful with an amazing view, the House was very centrally located in town, the breakfast was great and a nice chance to meet the other guests. And hosts were very nice.
Would definitely recommend
When we were in Lunenburg Nova Scotia for two days of our three-week July road trip through the Maritimes, we stayed at Kaulbach House. The suite was very spacious with a modern large bathroom. I was also able to wake up early and work at the front between three windows, each facing in different directions, without disturbing my wife. The bed was extremely comfortable and the sheets, pillow cases and large bath towels were great! On the whole trip, this was the best B&B. A terrific breakfast. And a marvelous hostess. Very highly recommended.
We just spent two nights in the Harbourview suite, it was amazing! The room was extremely comfortable and nice. The bathroom was excellent and the bed was great! We loved everything. Last but not least, a great breakfast and a very friendly host! Kaulbach house is probably the best accommodation in Lunenburg.
We found our way to the Kaulbach House Historic Inn in Lunenburg NS. Our host and hostess Dave and Jenny, were very kind and welcoming! Being greeted warmly and informed of the area as well as the comforts we would find at the inn.The English breakfasts were prepared with love each morning accommodating one of us with gluten and egg allergies. The food was delightful ! There is a sitting area on the second floor that seats two in a cosy setting looking out at the sea and water front shops.Delightful! The location of the Inn allowed for easy walking to shops, cafe's,lunch and dinner dining. The maritime heritage is exceptional! A day trip out to Blue Rocks is a must! There is easy off street parking as well. The streets are layered up and down a hill side leading to water front. Fun shopping, great food ! Be sure to book early in the morning or the day before for a sail on the Bluenose schooner! The inn and the rooms are very clean ,comfortable and lovely. Anything we needed, all we had to do was ask! We would return to Kaulbach House Historic Inn again and again!
