“Red Hill is a pleasant oasis along the eastern south shore of Nova Scotia. It is the only golf course in the area and the green fees ($15) were very agreeable for the novice trio that I was travelling in. The owner, Jim, welcomed us personally, set us up with a couple carts, and provided some wise words of warning on certain holes. The tee off was an uphill shot that compelled us to bring our best game from the very beginning. The other tee offs were immersed but easy to find. The greens were connected to the next tee-off by clear, well-worn carts paths. If you're in a cart, the path to hole 7 requires caution. Occasionally, Jim would come find us to offer some sage advice and also get a fair bit of entertainment from how we attempted to navigate our balls through his course. The course is challenging and requires insider knowledge, or a second round of nine at least. The weather was overcast and we had the course to ourselves. We wish you all the best in having similar good fortune.”
