We stayed for 2 nights and Barry was an amazing host, providing a comfortable place to stay, delicious breakfast and lots of info about the best places to hike in the area. Would definitely stay there again if in the area - it would be like visiting an old friend! Thanks Barry!!
An amazing 4 day lively experience thru wilderness made possible with the help and joy of our host....
I aboustly loved my stay at the Lofty Heights great place to do yoga and rengerize. Very quiet and BUGGIE FREE !! Which made all more enjoyable stay. Barry gave some great hiking tips and along with maps to help me navigate my way around. Breakfast was very good and also gave options for vegterain ☺!! All in all i would diffently stay again!!!!
We had visited Tobermory about 3-4 years ago and fell in love with it. Because of limited availability in Tobermory we decided to stay at Lofty Heights B&B for the long weekend which is about 40 mins drive from Tobermory. I think staying at Lofty Heights B&B was one of the best decisions we made besides visiting the Bruce Peninsula again. Barry, the owner of Lofty Heights B&B is an amazing host, chef, guide and much more. He welcomed us with warmth to his home. Told us stories about how he built his house, and we got a lot of creative ideas from him on how we can improve our home when doing renovations or upgrades. We had complete privacy and the entire floor to ourselves. Watching the countless birds, including the most number of Blue Jays we've ever seen at once, and admiring the beautiful flowers in his spacious and very private backyard was another highlight of the visit. Both the breakfasts that he prepared for us were no less than gourmet meals. He was very accommodating of my allergy and made something special for me the next morning so I could enjoy my breakfast treat. He is well informed about the hidden gems in Bruce Peninsula. We hiked for few hours all the days during our stay and visited breath taking places similar to the ones in magazines. If it wasn’t for his suggestions, we would have probably visited all the touristy sites which were over crowded. Barry also told us of an almost secret spot on the west side of the peninsula where we can watch the sunset and the stars in complete peace, which was absolutely beautiful.
We will definitely be returning to Bruce Peninsula again and without a doubt will be staying at Lofty Heights B&B again.
This was a modestly priced and very lovely place to stay! The house is located in the woods just a 5 minute drive outside lion's head. Barry was extremely helpful and suggested many wonderful hiking routes, scenic viewpoints and advice on traveling through the Bruce Peninsula. He even told us about a secluded beach for star gazing! 10/10 would recommend!
