“Lots of parks by the river in Windsor, I think the ones I prefer have better views of downtown Detroit, those are the more photogenic ones. This one does have a great view of the bridge and some sculptures, but the only one I really liked was the elephant one. I think if I was going for a walk as a tourist, I'd pick the ones closer to downtown.”

“Great park. Large, paved paths around the exterior, unpaved paths through the middle. There's a frisbee golf course in the middle as well. Well maintained and kept, and lots of activities during the summer (before covid at least). No playground equipment is the only downside.”

“All the years I've lived in Windsor and I've never gone here until this past weekend. Love the whole atmosphere of being in the woods camping and this place delivers that exact feeling. There's a nice Lake nearby and swimming pool for the kids. Busy place, people seem nice. Better than being stuck in the city. Highly recommend checking this place out. Will be back.”

“This place has improved a lot since I was a kid in the 90s. All I can remember is a dirt path, a swing set and I think there were seesaws amongst the tennis court, baseball diamonds and soccer/football fields. Now, there's a huge playground and splash pad. Great place for the kids to play. The city also put a track around the whole park. I think the distance is 1.5km. Good for jogging and walking. A lot of people bring their dogs off leash there, even though is not a leashless park.”

“A beautiful, lovely preserved area within the city of Windsor. Windsorites must cherish and protect these amazing trees. They have been living here for hundreds of years and they deserve their space. The new bridge is going to be erected right next to the woods and will offer a beautiful green cover that is pleasing to the eyes - in contrast to the dark, industrial Zug Island in Michigan. A great place to walk through the woods, jog, run or bike. The trails are certainly suitable for biking.”

“I have always loved the peace fountain from a young age. It's a nice place to relax. It has an ice cream shop right by it as well. Apart from the fishy river smell, it's a nice place; even if you choose to stay in your car.”

“Optimist Memorial Park is a beautiful well seasoned Park. It has a large dog walking area. That is fenced in and at the far right hand corner in the back. There is ample parking for dozens of cars. A couple large Pavilions provides enough space for a large family gathering. Along with a kids play area, it's a perfect spot for a spring summer Gathering or birthday party. There are still some barbecue stations provided by the parks Rec. They are in excellent shape. I always bring steel wool and a little bit of oil every time I barbecue there. The facility also has bathrooms on a large gymnasium. There is also a new library that has been completed in the past couple years. You can also rent the gym for a birthday party. It's very reasonable and they provide you with a couple staff members to play basketball and other games during the party. Optimist park is a beautiful Park that is well maintained and very clean. We highly recommend Optimist Memorial Park for a good walk around some old trees, or just to go sit and enjoy a day”
