Lovely park (with history going back to the great depression - ) and nice campground. Lots to do for kids and quite a few trails nearby . Some camping sites are muddy. Tour the campground prior to book if you can. River on site. you can see Chinook Salmons here (we were there at the end of Sept). All in all ? Recommended.
Harrison Park is a magnificent spot in the nature but only about a ten-minute drive away from downtown Owen Sound. There are beautiful biking and hiking trails. You can rent canoes and play miniature golf. There are numerous bodies of waters where you can observe animals such as ducks, geese and swans. There is even a little wildlife centre where you can discover other animals such as chickens, peacocks and turkeys. There are so many things to discover here that multiple visits are requested.
The park was really great for a family with kids. We camped there and really enjoyed all the activities available in the park. The camp site was lovely, electricity and water sources available for each camp site. The pool was clean, the water warm, and not crowded. Washrooms super clean. We paddled on the lake and it was lovely. Great play structures for the kids. If you plan to travel to Owen Send or Manitoulin island, I would really recommend camping there. Waterfalls a short walk away!
Park with many activities for the family - hiking trails, water activities, tennis courts, campgrounds, etc.
Last camp fire and last BBQ supper at Harrison Park Campground on August 27th 2020.
