Governors Road Animal Hospital

Took my dog to this hospital to get him neutered and to get a corn removed from his foot. Took him to many other vets before, most of whom did not even know what the corn was. This doctor diagnosed and treated it immediately. I live in the city with dozens of animal hospitals within just a few km of my house but after coming here, I would never again compromise on the amount of genuine care and concern the doctors here show for pets. Money is not their focus, your pet is put first - which is a lot more than I can say for most vets. Go here once and you'll never want any other vet to see your dog again. The experience will speak for itself!

I can’t say how thankful I am to the staff at the Governor’s Road Animal Hospital. I spent time predominantly with Dr. Farooq, but the entire staff was incredibly compassionate, transparent and knowledgeable. They walked me through every step of the process before they started, and outlined what my bill would be as well (It was extremely reasonable given that it was an emergency case). They even went so far as to give me information on what was necessary and what would be more of a “nice to have” test in the case that I was budget conscious.

Dr. Farooq is very knowledgeable and intentionally communicated what each of the results of my dog’s blood test were. I left feeling relieved and more confident in my ability to monitor my dog for potential side effects. They also have treats in literally every room, and have excellent handling skills when it comes to more difficult dogs (as mine is).

I could literally praise them all day - but you should take your pet here because the staff are incredible and their prices are beyond reasonable!

I know one of their lovely receptionists from past work experience and had mentioned to her last week that one of my bunnies wasn't well. Even though Governor's Road wasn't opening until this week, she was in constant communication with Dr. Badar Farooq about my bunny's health. Because of this, Dr. Badar immediately gained my trust in handling my Poe's case. However, knowing they weren't open until Monday, I had to do lots of searching and calling to find elsewhere that could see Poe over the weekend - as the issues were with her teeth, which had caused extreme inappetence and oral discomfort. I wasn't having any luck finding someone that would do the dental on such short notice, let alone a doctor I felt comfortable with. Dr. Badar Farooq and his wonderful business partner, Dr. Ghulam Dogar offered to do Poe's dental, on Sunday a day before the clinic even opened their doors! They heard all of my concerns regarding Poe, through their receptionist Jaime, and handled us both with such kindness and compassion. I could tell both look at each and every one of their patients as their own companions.

While there at the clinic, Dr. Badar and Dr. Dogar explained everything to me in a way that I would understand with limited medical knowledge. I was also given a tour after Poe was well taken care of and even started eating on her own again. You can tell these Doctors truly thought of their patients and staff every step of the way in establishing this clinic. It's an hour and a half drive for me, I have 9 pets and will 110% be bringing each of them to Governor's for all of their vet care. I don't even feel like my review does enough justice in expressing how amazing of an atmosphere it is in there because of the Doctors and staff - you'll just have to see for yourself!

And what I love the absolute most, and can pretty well guarantee you won't find elsewhere, is that the appointment isn't over when you leave with your beloved pet. The doctors will check in via email and are quick to respond. I always felt so alone when one of my fur babies aren't well, but Dr. Badar and Dr. Dogar really made me feel how important Poe's health and recovery is to them

I know many read reviews to get an idea on pricing - they are extremely reasonable. I received my invoice before leaving and was shocked. This was one time I actually really wanted to pay more. Veterinary services for exotics and birds are hard to find and often cost more than those for cats and dogs. I highly, highly suggest bringing your fur family to Governor's Road if you want your babies in the best, most caring hands ❤️

Just popped into this new veterinary clinic and had a personal tour. Loved everything I saw including state of the art equipment. Receptionist is lovely and the Dr. I met was personable and very caring. I believe they are determined to provide a level of care you might not find anywhere else nearby. I intend to give them a try.
