“We had some major house renovations done by Mark and the team at Done Right Carpentry over the course 4/5 weeks in 2022. From their personal and involved first visit, walk-through, detailed explanation and project quotes, through the full experience over the next month+ of having them in our home, Mark and his team were exceptional. We had them do many jobs, from tearing out and widening entranceways, opening up stairway entranceways, and installing decks in our backyard. Creating a custom in-wall closet/drawer/bookshelves, reconstruction of closets, complete upgrade of the laundry room, retouching up walls and repainting throughout. Mark and the team always were very professional, easy to have in the house, did not leave any messes, and were extremely conscientious of quality and always looked to ensure their work was done efficiently and actually saved us money through their recommendation to us for selection of work and products. We are getting them back later this year to do more work (flooring, bathroom, fencing, etc. ) It took us 5 years to find the right team. It was worth the wait. We have recommended Done Right to our close friends, and many neighbours within our area have also had them do extensive as well as smaller jobs in their homes. At least a dozen that we know of. Every single person/ family who has worked with them are extremely pleased. “I contacted Warren and Co. for the installation of a concrete pad in my back yard for a home astronomical observatory. The requirements are very specific - a concrete pier embedded below the frost line so that the telescope will be immovable while the observatory dome sits on the pad. Warren came by personally and made recommendations that would add functionality while staying within the quoted price. Of interest, he and his team went above and beyond in ensuring that the work was done professionally and exceeded my expectations. Throughout the entire process, Warren and his team kept me updated on progress as well as doing things such as embedding the Loonie in the concrete for the Loonie Observatory. “We had an exposed aggregate driveway done by Charles Legato at Custom Tec Concrete. We love the driveway; it looks beautiful! We found Charles to be an honest, professional and hard working person with many years of experience that really showed in the finished product. His pricing was fair and he explained the process in detail to us beforehand. He made sure we were happy with the driveway layout when he had the forming done, before any concrete was poured. Our driveway was so long he had to do the job as two separate pours. We were concerned that perhaps the two separate areas would not match well, but they look exactly the same. He used a lot of rebar with close spacing between the bars and he had little risers he put at the rebar intersections so the rebar was held in the middle layer of the concrete as opposed to just sitting at the bottom of the concrete. Charles took care to ensure the driveway was graded properly so that the rainwater drains properly, away from our garage and there are no areas on our driveway where the water pools. He put an attractive 6 inch border all along our driveway and he did a diamond shaped saw cut pattern all over the driveway that was perfectly done and looks wonderful. He took care to minimize the mess around the driveway and his crew cleaned up the surrounding lawn well when the work was done. Charles applied several coats of sealer and then added a sparkle that reflects the sunlight and looks beautiful. We did not pay him for the work until it was completed and in the end he actually charged us less money than his original quote as his material costs were lower than expected. We certainly recommend Custom Tec Concrete for any concrete project you may have. Many thanks Charles!”
