It's nice spot to observe wildlife. There is a nice variety of habitats on this former farm and it is ideal for short hikes. The terrain has some small but significant slopes and the trail is mostly natural surface so wear appropriate footwear. Some sections can be slippery when wet. It's likely you will encounter mosquitoes and potentially ticks. Poison ivy is present in some spots.
White pine plantations, eastern white cedar and mixed hardwoods (beech, maple ash, etc.) are punctuated by artifacts of the old farm, including building foundations, catalpa trees, old orchard and even the remains of a small dam. It's a great spot to see spring ephemerals (trilliums, blood root, hepatica), birds (native sparrows, nuthatches, wax wings and more).
