Smackwater Jacks

Lovely location. Very friendly staff. We went on a slow time (maybe 30 % capacity), but the staff did not seem to be able to manage the tables they had. One table would get water, the next would not. We asked for extra napkins as soon as our food came, but we never got them.
We ordered a "garbage can" nachos, which came in a large can, that was removed at the table. A very unique presentation that we truly enjoyed. The chips were excellent, but the cheese sauce was horrible. The server could not describe the beers to us, and as they were not familiar (except for Corona) and we are not 'craft beer' junkies, we did not know which to order. Washroom was stylish, very small and weird, with frosted glass on the stall doors. One of the two stalls had a broken lock, so, in that small space, two people were doing a squish past each other for one to come out and the next to go into the only stall available. Thank goodness it wasn't packed that day.

Came here with my kids, great casual place to have a meal while watching the sunset. A family favourite was the trash can nachos! The kids loved seeing the nachos fall out of the "trash can". Will definitely be coming back!

Visit in August, 2019. I am informed that this restaurant has new owners, staff and menu this year. Great location on River Road between Grand Bend Marina and the Grand Bend Yacht Club. Staff were friendly and menu options varied. Good selection of beverages. I would suggest that the Kitchen reconsider their Trashcan Nachos.
