This place is fantastic! There are 2 Great dog beaches! Super clean. Beach #1 is surprisingly narrow so not a whole lot of place to set up on the beach itself ( it's more of a dune) but the overall experience makes up for it. Crystal clear water is shallow for at least 50 to 70 ft, making it a great place to play in the water with pets or children. If your pup is a swimmer no problem just walk out a little further and enjoy the waves. The people are friendly and even the toilets were clean. Can't wait to visit again!
The beach is a bit narrower than last year but it's a great place to bring a dog... Or you can come without one and watch as other dogs enjoy the water
Not to say that you can't enjoy the beach as well... It's a great place to sit and watch the water or walk out so far that you find the third sandbar and still be only up to your knees...
And, it's only one of nine beaches along Lake Huron in Pinery Park so you can come back often and try a different one each time.
It's a nice dog beach. You do have to pay 18 dollars per visit if you don't have a pass. It's also very rocky in the actual lake as a warning. It's an overall good beach to go to. Further up are beach areas for humans only. An overall great place to spend the day. Washrooms are at all beach sites at the parking lot area.
Went for the first time today with my two large breed dogs. Everyone was very friendly, all dogs were very well behaved and no one gave anyone issue, and everyone was super friendly. Got a nasty sunburn but will definitely be back next weekend! ????????
The most beautiful provincial park I have ever been to. While the beach is much smaller, now that Lake Huron's water table is so high, the forests are still gorgeous as ever. A newer boardwalk makes the Riverside trail a delight, with turtles, turkey vultures, snakes, wild columbine/geraniums all easily viewed.
Rough camping is next to none, with a wide variety of clean, and quiet sites for nature lovers, and less private/electrified sites for families.
Watch out for poison ivy.
