“Note sure what Sue is talking about. The grounds are well maintained and the wildlife is part of the appeal of casawinati. The owners are extremely pleasant and accommodating to any needs that come up. The park is quiet with amazing people. This is a highly recommended park.”

Ennis Cottages

Address: 2032 Ennis Road A, Balderson, ON K0G 1A0, Canada

Campground Lodging Park

“We had an amazing time at Ennis' cottages. As an avid fisherman, I was in paradise, lol. The long dirt roads allowed us to get out with the dogs and do some exploring. I threw the ball for one of our dogs at the boat launch daily and nobody seemed bothered. I do however encourage being leashed for everyone's safety. The weather was amazing allowing us to just chill on the deck and read a book. We got out an explored a few nearby towns for food and "fare" well call it. Perth Brewery and Balderson cheese, are another pair of nearby favourites. This place exudes that nice homey feel. The people were awesome. I definitely plan on another visit.”

Silver Lake Provincial Park

Address: 22726 Hwy 7, Maberly, ON K0H 2B0, Canada

Park

“The lots are pretty private depending on where you book it in the park. My fiancee and I stayed on the edge by the water. We had a two day visit and we went hiking, biking and canoeing. The highway is a little loud in the early hours of the morning and you can hear the trucks occasionally as they go by. Most people seem to stay up pretty late and there are two beaches with plenty of room to share. I actually didn't notice a lot of kids there but I know there were some around. We brought our dog with us as well and he seemed to enjoy it. The only thing you gotta know is the bathrooms can be a bit of a hike and there is no electricity at most campsites. It was a good time though. Also I gotta add: the fire pits there are awesome and i cooked food on them every day. They have little built in grills and you can buy wood at the front. Perth is also right around the corner so Tim's is an option too!”

Christie Lake Kids

Address: 1264 Althorpe Rd, Perth, ON K7H 3C9, Canada

Park

“I went to Christie Lake Boys Camp for several years when i was around 9 or 10. Maybe around 1956 or 57. At first i hated it but i began to enjoy it as time passed. In my second year I was even voted camper of the week. On one of our over nighters, i was bitten by a water snake and i had never seen a snake before. My family were dirt poor. I had 3 siblings. My parents worked full time but it was hard. Average salary back then was was around .75 cents a hour. So to be lucky enough to go camper for two weeks was a great joy. And it was one less kid that my parents needed worry about. I STILL TO THIS DAY REMEMBER MY TIME THERE AND I'M 73 YEARS YOUNG.”

Suite Miss Scarlett at Penny's Lane

Address: 801 Upper Scotch Line, Perth, ON K7H 3C5, Canada

Lodging Park

“This B&B is by far the greatest we have ever come across. Penny is a wonderful host, cook and a great person to be around. The whole property is outstanding and the décor is something straight out of a magazine. Yet you feel right at home. The suite is incredible. Words cannot do it justice. If you happen to be in the area, plan a stay!”

Murphys Point Beach

Address: Tay Valley, ON K7H 3C7, Canada

Park

“BEAUTIFUL!! Lots of wildlife in the park. Camping sites are all fairly spaced out and private. The main beach is perfect for spending the day swimming and playing. The waterfront is sandy with little to no weeds. Would recommend taking a canoe out on Loon Lake. Lots of trails to explore. The only complaint I had was that all the campsites were shady due to tall trees. We were looking forward to the sunshine, but it kept us nice and cool. We stayed in Ash Hill campgrounds which was a perfect location. It was a short walk to the store and a quick jaunt to the beach.”

Murphys Point Provincial Park

Address: 2243 Elm Grove Rd, Perth, ON K7H 3C7, Canada

Campground Lodging Park

“We had a great stay here for the long weekend. It's just far enough out from Ottawa without being too inconvenient. Beach was nice, lots of activities. Never had any issues with noise or complaints. And that's with our own 2 children being pretty loud. The staff were excellent and always friendly. And Perth is only a quick drive away if you want to get back into cell reception and have access to amenities. The only thing that could have been improved is the fire pit. Not all that great of a design. Otherwise it was a perfect camping trip.”

Whispering Pines Scout Camp

Address: Tay Valley, ON K7H 3C5, Canada

Campground Lodging Park

“One of the best wilderness scout campgrounds around. Easy access to water for canoeing, beautiful camp sites, and a clean water pump (boil first), and trails everywhere. If you are looking to camp with your pack or troop, this is the place.”
