“Hiked this trail with my mom and two dogs. We all enjoyed it. Starts easy, but then steadily climbs. The terrain is roots and granite so good shoes and a bit of scrambling necessary. But is still family friendly and dog friendly. Great views at the top.”

“One of the busiest places used to Put-In and Take-Out for a coveted canoe trip into Killarney Provincial Park. So nice to do this on a sand beach not to mention a refreshing cool dip after working up a sweat. This beach has lots of sand and the view is fantastic. Park trails can be accessed from here. Do try to see this scenery in all four seasons.”

“A beautiful trail that takes you through some fantastic examples of north-eastern Ontario landscapes. Pink granite dropping into lakes behind beaver dams, in a forest of mixed oak, maple, spruce, and pine.”

“This is an amazing trail with moderate difficulty. The boulders are fun to climb. Bring water and snacks for the journey. ”

“Parking is $15, but you're actually buying a day permit for the whole park, so it gives you access to other trails, and the campsite, for the day. The parking itself has no services whatsoever, so go to the office further West if you need anything. The trail itself is about 3h both ways, at a good pace, assuming 30 minutes worth of breaks in total. It could be done in 2.5h at a fast pace, with a 20 minute break at the top. Plan 4h if you want to take it slow. Time wise, the first 65% or so is on a relatively flat (and at the beginning, wide) path. Then you start encountering more roots, rocks, and eventually large boulders, and some light "climbing" or "bouldering" (NOT actual rock climbing with equipment). Suitable for older children, and adults in relatively good shape. Still challenging for adults in shape. I found the second half quite fun. The view at the top is pretty impressive; fairly high up, at least for Ontario. You'll see the bay, a few lakes, and the surrounding forest; almost a 360 degree view.”

“The work is worth the reward. The view is breathtaking from the top. What beauty and history we are blessed to see and experience. Bring water and wear proper hiking footwear. Not suitable for everyone or every dog. Be safe, be patient, be kind. Happy trails!”

“I love this resort as a place to run my retreats, they're lovely people and very accommodating! The grounds are well maintained and the cabins are comfortable and cleaner than most hotel rooms. The gas appliances and washrooms are convenient, and the location is incredible. Looking out on the lake as soon as you open your door is wonderful! We were able to use the docks for yoga and workshops, and lots of space for workshops. I can't wait to come back for another year!”

“Road to get out here is pretty rough, but the trail is beautiful! A few difficult parts especially if wet, but it only took my partner and myself 2hrs. The trail is well marked.”
