The Lake Of Bays Lodge (Formerly Bristlecone Lodge Resort)

Excellent location, views, atmosphere and stay. It’s “cottage-country” and this place definitely suits the bill with it friendly staff and amenities, 2nd back except to see winter - thank you for another good time.

We had a stay here and it was really nice actually! I was a bit skeptical reading other reviews but we had a nice time. The location is very nice and the cabin very rustic and cozy.
There is a jet tub for anyone wondering (not enough pictures of their own website) and the wood fireplace was wonderful! Bring your own wood of course.
If you’re coming here looking for a pristine 5 star hotel then I wouldn’t recommend it. The place is old (part of its charm IMO) and I’d suggest bringing your own bed sheets and slippers foe inside the house.
But otherwise they had cleaned the placed nicely before our arrival.
I’m taking a star out because the bathroom could’ve been cleaner but we brought our own cleaning products and went over it.
Again, if you want a rustic experience this place is wonderful but if you’re super picky then I’d say not for you.
Staff is also nice but the place is really understaffed which is something owners need to address.
Overall we had a great time and will definitely come back if we go this way!

Its gorgeous! Fun times there. Lots to do! There is free Wifi, but I dont see why people would want to come all this why just to sit on the net when theres sooo much to do and see! Trails and all they have kayaks so you can go enjoy possibly relax on the water. And just up the road you can rent ATV's, canoes and boats. Perfect get away for all!!

We read some bad reviews about this place, but were pleasantly surprised! The place is a little worn and dated, but I think that is down to some guests not treating the things the resort has to offer with care. The games room needs some work, (only one pool que, only two games with all their parts, Foosball table broken) but we shared the que and had a few games! We stayed in a two double bed loft, with a nice covered deck. It rained a lot during our stay, but we hung out on our deck and stayed dry! The couch was worn and the beds could have used better pillows, but we were comfortable. The beach had lots of chairs and umbrellas, life jackets and even a few kyacks for guests to try. Overall we had had a nice time and would go back!
