The Tally Ho Inn has been our saving grace during Covid. We have gone up a couple times now from Toronto just for a change of scenery. The cabins are always very clean and the view is great. Had a great time each stay. And our dog can join, which is wonderful too. Have recommended to a lot of friends and family. Easiest place to social distance and escape city life.
Been coming for a few years and have every intention of coming back during the winter. Cabins are cozy and the complementary fire wood is also great. Pet friendly. Staff are kind and helpful when needed. Only thing that I think could be improved is the cleaning thoroughness between guests. Overall a great cozy family place to stay with a fair amount of amenities.
We stayed in The Moose cabin on March 5-8. The place was very comfortable and it is a beautiful property. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend :) The fireplace was so cozy, the frozen lake was a lot of fun to explore, and I think all the cabins close together would be great for friends and family to enjoy together. It was also very close to Arrowhead, which was a lot of fun. It was a great weekend!
Just a couple things I wanted to bring to your attention...
Our cabin had a lot of white pet hair all over the blankets. We are not allergic and like animals, but as someone who doesn't have pets (and I see you charge extra money for cleaning fees for those who bring pets), we were disappointed to have so much pet hair all over our clothes and blankets, etc. It was the most frustrating when trying to put in contacts in my eyes and it was still getting stuck to everything haha.
Secondly, I think it would be beneficial to have a little broom and dust pan in each cabin so that guests can at least sweep up the living room floor. This will help the guests, but also the cleaning staff who come in at the end.
Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay and I have already recommended the place to many people. We hope to come back in the summer one year to check it out!
Thanks again!
We stayed at a decent wooden cabin in winter 2015 for the weekend with a nice backyard overlooking a frozen lake.
Funny story - we had plans to go to Arrowhead park for a day hike, but dropped one of the car keys in the snow, thus spent the rest of the day looking for it. Eventually we got a metal detector to help us with our search and found it.
Lesson of the day - don't place your keys in the pocket when you're planning to roll around in the snow. It's like looking for a needle in a haystack.
Overall the cottage has been a cozy stay for the weekend.
cute resort right on the water. big rooms for decent price (pet friendly too!). loved the fire pit. a bit too close to neighbors for my liking and could be cleaner, otherwise it’s excellent and we will come back!
