Long Point Bird Observatory

This was amazing! The bird banding process was fully explained. They brought us around to all the nets, collected the birds, then took measurements and check the fat on the birds. This place is fascinating, it's remarkable to see how kind the volunteers are and how much they love the birds. We were even invited back at night to see Saw Whet Owls get banded. If your a new birder this is a great place to check out.

Great work is being done here. As a tourist, best to go in the 6 hours after dawn to see the banding research being done. Friendly informative volunteers on hand. They run on donations and purchases from the small gift shop. Not too big. Boots a good idea. They even have binoculars to borrow.

Very lovley little side of the road pit stop. Saw a stork. At least i assumed it was one. Looked like it. Evaluated. Not too high up.

Observe bird capture and banding. Good place to see bird spring migrations on well established trails. Close to Long Point Provincial Park...more birding areas.
