After surviving an extremely serious TBI many years ago, I have tried countless therapies and fitness programs that were always lacking. Mike Walton created an excellent workout plan designed for ME after carefully listening to my physical challenges and goals. Mike is very observant, focusing on careful technique, effective breathing strategies and mind/muscle connection. He is consistently positive, encouraging and enthusiastic. In only two months time, I feel a vast improvement in my physical strength and mobility!
With Mike’s help, I feel absolutely confident that I will achieve my goals. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone of any age or ability that is looking to improve their fitness and health.
When I first started with Mike, I was 71 and had concerns that he may not know how to adapt to my needs and that I could end up getting hurt. At the time I was experiencing periodic pain in several areas and relied on regular physiotherapy to keep me healthy.
Mike quickly put me at ease as he really listened to me and worked with me to develop a program that helped me build confidence and strength. He took the time to explain the theories behind everything we were doing and with his clear and calm communication he kept my anxieties at bay.
We went over everything from proper breathing mechanics to how and why each exercise worked and how we would set up my progression. My progress has been undeniable. I have greater physical and mental strength as well as better flexibility and stamina. Through the simple routine that we created (that he even assisted me in doing from my own home) I am more confident in my day-to-day activities and I feel that my body is not only stronger but more capable. A bonus has been improved sleep.
When I first started, I was scared to lift 20 lbs due to my back issues but I've recently worked with an 80lb kettlebell and felt very confident doing so under Mike's guidence. I'm looking forward to this spring's gardening season with a renewed sense of strength that I can do so without getting hurt.
Since we began, I no longer have nagging back, leg or neck pain. I don't need the regular physio that I depended on and in fact haven't had to go back. Mike is a great coach and after building me a thoughtful and safe plan that has really changed my health, I have no hesitation in recommending him to others. I can't wait to see where I'm at as I continue my health journey with him.
I was looking to prepare for a half marathon and needed to break through the fitness plateau that I had been stuck on for years. Mike Walton easily broke down simple techniques that helped me progress to where I needed to be and provided knowledge that would help me long term. Great personal trainer, would absolutely recommend for anyone trying to get a fitness regime down or trying to progress their current fitness level.
I started training with Coach Mike after having a baby and returning back to shift work. I felt overwhelmed with the big weight loss goal I had set for myself and felt lost after attempting several “online” Personal Trainers. I have nothing but positive things to say about Coach Mike. Whether you’re an athlete wanting to improve specific strength and conditioning components to the sport or new to exercise, he takes a personalized approach. Mike comes with a wealth of knowledge in the field of health and fitness however, his passion for helping others and truly helping you become the best you, is by far the best quality in a coach. Coach Mike provided an extensive assessment and then tailored the program to balance both physical and mental resilience. I’m learning and building on daily fitness habits, but also learning the importance of mindfulness and how that plays a significant factor on the success of anyones health journey. I am finally enjoying getting back into exercise and a healthy lifestyle and I’ve never felt more supported and encouraged to reach my goals!
I am a girls' U17 rep basketball coach in Toronto. I hired Walton Resilience to put together a training program that my team could follow on their own time (and would actually do). Coach Mike listened to every request I had regarding areas of physical fitness I wanted the girls to improve on as well as my main request of keeping the program simple to follow. Not only was there an excellent focus on improving the girls' physically, but Mike also recommended some simple breathing and sleeping tips that have been tremendously beneficial. I regularly hear feedback from the girls and their parents about how much they like the program, how much better they feel since they started the program, and how they're using specific strategies introduced to them by Coach Mike to succeed in areas outside of basketball. We finished the season with a 21-5 record, with the vast majority of our wins being solidified in the 3rd and 4th quarters when others teams just couldn't keep up with our constant pressure. Coach Mike's guidance was a major part of our success this season. I can't recommend him highly enough, both for individual athletes looking to improve, but also for coaches and team administrators trying to find an edge over the competition.
