We had an artic spa for 8 years and we are still amazed every morning when soak before work. Highly recommend this place.
Super friendly and very helpful ..love our tub
"Don't worry, we'll make it right." And they did. And we couldn't be happier with the hot tub, it's performance or the efforts they made to make it right. So why only a four out of five stars? It's a long story and you're going to have to read the rest of this review to find out.
When we bought our house, the builder/owner told us he had wired it for a hot tub. When we decided to buy a hot tub, we did our research and picked a model. We also did our due diligence and had the electrical checked out. Turns out there was a dedicated circuit but it was only 110v. The norm for hot tubs is 220v. Due to the way the house was constructed, it would have been very expensive for us to retrofit 220v so we changed our parameters and looked for a 110v tub. (Spoiler Alert: if you want or need a 110v hot tub, go to a manufacturer who specializes in that type of tub.)
We decided on Arctic Spa as the best tub for us. We talked to the salesman about our unique electrical situation and he assured us the tub we chose would work. As a consumer I realize that a salesperson's job is to sell product. But as a consumer I also expect that a salesperson is fully conversant with their product line. It turns out that they hadn't sold a 110v tub in many years and the salesperson was just relying on the sales info provided by the manufacturer.
Had we known this from the start, we would have made another decision. In the long run, it turned out ok but in talking with one of the owners, he told us that they would not be selling any more 110v tubs.
The other issue was the installation. Everything was set up fine but the instructions we got on how to run the tub we4e not, in my opinion, adequate. I thought I had enough info but as I started using the tub, I realized there was a lot I didn't know it understand. It could be because of the unique electrical or it might just be a less than adequate briefing. Regardless, Nick and Jackson, at the Manotick store answered all my questions (and then some) and left me very well equipped to manage my hot tub, which is surprisingly different than running a pool.
So why the four, you're still asking. The simple answer is because I can't give a 4.75. As I said above, we are very happy with the tub but there were a couple of things that stopped it from being a Five.
Herb was fantastic and super helpful! Very excited about our hot tub!
Best hot tubs going. Talk to Ryan, super knowledgeable and great guy.
