“My husband and I could spend hours in this store! The selection is out of this world and the owner is so friendly. Their prices are really reasonable as well. I am an avid reader and have been shopping here for years and have always recommended this hidden treasure to all my friends! Will be coming in soon to stock up for my summer reading list. I have to plan a day to come out because I know I will be there for a while :P”

“Good variety and layout, not many mens belts and they're hard to find but still very good experience.”
Address: 1620 Merivale Rd, Nepean, ON K2G 3K3, Canada
“The store looks amazing since the reorganization! So much more room to move. You can see everything from all angles. The staff did a great job! Kudos. They are always so nice and helpful too! My favourite shop in Ottawa. Good quality. Gteat deals.”

“It's a great little store to spend time in. Shopping for a gift? they have lots to choose from and you're not confined to only books.”
Address: 1073 Bank St, Ottawa, ON K1S 3W9, Canada
“This is an outstandingly fantastic book store! As a regular, I discovered their magical surprise book boxes during the pandemic. What a brilliant way to give gifts and read books you might not normally have read. During a dark time, receiving a delivery and opening the boxes was so exciting! The folks who run this fabulous shop are seriously top notch. Thank you for all you do for our community.”

“I walked 7km in 38 degree Celsius heat today (what can I say, I'm an avid grower...) and the staff was laid back, welcoming and knowledgeable, and the merchandise fairly priced and cool as f##k... Every sweaty step of those 7km were worth it to see how cool "Crosstown Traffic" truly is! I've been in Ottawa 20a and I'm ashamed today was my first (tho NOT last) visit! "Crosstown Traffic" is simply amazing, plus it's a JIMI song people!!!”

“Love love... Coles indigo at Place d'Orleans...always has items that I need. Very helpful staff.”

“Value Village provides a great community service. I would argue that is perhaps Ottawa's best example of a wisely managed thrift store with a unique perspective on frugality which they dutifully pass onto their clients. Considering the large volume of donations they receive each day, employees are each to be commended on how well organized and clean they keep their store. This place is also treasure trove for those seeking a tour down nostalgia lane.”
Address: 1st floor University Centre, 1125 Colonel By Dr, Ottawa, ON K1S 5B6, Canada
“Very helpful staff who are always willing to lend a hand, though the prices can usually be beaten by Amazon, octopus books, and Haven for both new and used products. During busy seasons, the lines stretch around the store at times, making the purchasing process long and tedious.”

“Thanks for adding the cafe! The coffee - both the drip coffee and especially the espresso drinks - are really really good! Thanks also for having vegan & nut-free cookies available. So glad to have such a great cafe so close to home!!”

“Great selection (from clothing, purses, kids gear, books and housewares) at great prices and they encourage/facilitate donations to charity. All round very satisfied with my experience. You won't be disappointed if you accept clothing that is clearly gently used.”
Address: 35 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa, ON K1M 1M1, Canada
“Every neighbourhood needs a local bookstore with just enough stock that you aren't overwhelmed by all the choices ( scented chocolate chip candles, anyone?). Books on Beechwood doesn't have those but they do have a lot of somewhat esoteric books that I buy and are usually not carried by the chains. They also happen to be beside the Scone Witch which makes the best oatmeal scones in Eastern Ontario. This is a winning combination.”

“Always a good selection of English and French educational books - some prices can be high, but overall decent value.”

“Much larger and more spacious than the older store. Bathrooms could be better proportioned. 2 staff bathrooms, both male and female but obit one bathroom for the general public which is also the accessible bathroom. If anyone has ever needed to use any accessible bathroom is a priority. Here is shared with everyone else. I would like to see two bathrooms; a separate accessible bathroom and a general public bathroom.”

“Very nice bookstore. It is not as big as the one Downtown but it has everything you need including a very good French selection of cards and books. Took the kids to the March Break activities and WE all had a great time. Excellent staff great customer service with a smile!”

“Found it pricey. I was buying sheets and instead of selling as a set, each was priced individually along with the pillowcases which ended up costing more than a second hand store should charge. The cashier was very friendly and pleasant. Made my experience brighter!”

“Great place for children's French books. Had a much bigger collection than what I found at a few Chapters locations. Also has a great set of French dictionaries and Bibles for various ages. Recommended for sure!”

“Variable products to choose; staffs are knowledgeable. Overall, the store is excellent. I highly recommend it!”
Address: 430 Rideau St, Ottawa, ON K1N 7Y2, Canada
“Visiting this bookstore was like discovering a new continent for me. Though it's a relatively small one, it has a lot of afro-pertinent books that you won't just find anywhere. The prices are a bit high but that just reflects the scarcity of such literature in Ottawa and the probable difficulty to make it available to the public.”
