Bowmanville Zoo

Address: 340 King St E, Bowmanville, ON L1C 3K5, Canada

Zoo

“This zoo is nice and simple! The kids loved it! It needs to be protected and encouraged by tourism. The zoo is currently being put down for reasons that nobody has any proof of. This is the oldest privately owned zoo in Canada, don't you think it should be helped instead of shutdown!? We don't close something that lasted this long over ridiculous speculations. Not one single person wasn't enjoying there day. The food is good, the cost is low, the staff is amazing and sweet and we even had a chance to hold a baby lion cub in our arms. Give it a chance or give it a try. It is a nice family place to go. The splash pad is also very nice so kids love to cool out. Please save the zoo and go encourage it :)”

Jungle Cat World Wildlife Park

Address: 3667 Concession Rd 6, Orono, ON L0B 1M0, Canada

Lodging Park Zoo

“The value here is incredible, especially if you get the Groupon. Some of the enclosures seem a bit small but you can see that the animals are very healthy and active, especially compared to the cats at the Metro zoo. The amazing thing is how close you can get to these magnificent animals. We got to see the feeding, in which food is delivered through a hole in the front of the enclosure. It was awesome! It lasted about an hour and the employee doing the feeding was fantastic. The pathways are pretty muddy due to the season, so be prepared for that. I would imagine that in the summer this would not be an issue.”

Safari Lodge & Lion's Den

Address: 3667 Concession Rd 6, Orono, ON L0B 1M0, Canada

Lodging Zoo

“A one if a kind experience to roam the entire grounds after hours. Get up close and personal with all large cats species and other animals. A must do at least once. The Behind the Scenes is also a one of a kind experience especially if you get to meet a baby tiger! Safari Lodge is a large apartment with views of the grounds and animals from your deck and windows. The room is stocked with soap and shampoo and conditioner, towels. The fridge has eggs, milk, cream, cheese and juice and yogurt, small snacks and the butter tarts were a nice touch.”
