“Amazing amount of real cheese curds in their poutine. Even better than that were their homemade veggie samosas. They were so crunchy and absolutely packed with flavour. The sauce they served it with was the perfect compliment too. Definitely worth a stop!”

“I go to this great restaurant quite often! This is my favorite spot to grab a bite. I visit this spot regularly. The meals are fantastic, the staff members are helpful and the price is affordable. I like being in this restaurant for a decent meal.”

“Amazing food, amazing service and great atmosphere! Cameron was an excellent server and was very helpful! We chose this place on a whim and got very lucky we found this gem! Each dish we got was excellent and you can tell a lot of love goes into each dish. The flavor profiles go so well together. We live in Hamilton but we will definitely be making the trip to come back and try some more things on the menu! We had pork belly Bao, and Nashville chicken sandwich. Each are winners and are easily every day eats!”

“Decided to order a Square Boy Pizza after 37 years, and it didn’t disappoint! My husband and I used to get Square Boy, Port Perry, when we first started dating in 1983 and we haven’t had it since 1984. It was delicious! The service was excellent! Thank you for the memories.”

“I was just taking a pleasure drive and saw a couple cars out front. I hadn’t had lunch yet so I pulled in. Sausage combo with a generous serving of fries and a canned drink was just over $10. Staff were friendly and helpful when selecting a menu item, and even complimented my glasses and car =) Sausage was good, not excellent.. BUT to be honest, most times I’m eating a sausage it’s at 3:18am and I’m pretty trashed.. So I suppose that’s not a fair comparison. Anyway. Food was good & reasonably priced and the staff were nice. Great spot for a nice day, even has 2 picnic tables close by.”

“I celebrated my PhD earlier this evening in this excellent restaurant. happy to tell that it was a terrific evening and the place was certainly the reason for this fruitful celebration. The waiters contributed in a very nice way, the cuisine was appetizing and my buddies were very pleased. We shall surely return for more joyful events. Thank you very much.”

“New place. Good burritos....lots of different pop choices. The acoustics make it a bit difficult to order over the music. Recommend.”

“It was very good, my parents and I went out for dinner here. They got the platter with multiple options, I got Caesar salad, and deep fried pickles. VERY GOOD! Nice kind service which makes it feel like the people care and they go the extra mile! If you do not like fish but want to go with friends or family you still can get something delicious. Excited to go again!!”

“Amazing Extremely impressed No idea that this gem was in Port Perry Have walked by this restaurant on numerous trips to Port Perry I always thought this was an upper class sandwich shop. Went with friends to celebrate birthday Had a private booth. Which I would suggest as it made the occasion more intimate So much staff and yes they worked had to please all customers but it was well worth any extra wait we may have had So meticulous were the wait staff... Constantly checking for small details... Water spots in glasses Clean cutlery Above and beyond Food was incredible Presentation of our meals was so spectacular .. We were taking photos of our meals You will not be disappointed at Pickles and Olives Highly recommend this upscale restaurant No need to go to the city for celebration and great food Thank you”

“Food was good but the indoor atmosphere was dark and cramped. It needed updating. The patio looked very nice but it was full. I would recommend sitting on the patio. The bathrooms are also fairly old and could use updating. Service was good and live music excellent.”

“Great little restaurant overlooking lake Simcoe in Port Perry Ontario. A large deck provides summer seating with a good water view. I enjoyed the prime rib usually available Friday through Monday. Entrees from 17 to 35$. A good selection of local craft beers are available. The inside seating closest to the kitchen doesn't have a view of the water.”

“Stopped in on a Tuesday evening around seven to get a takeout pulled pork on a bun. + Bun was good, very fresh. + Decent portion of meat which was tender. - I thought the meat lacked flavour. No real bbq or smoked taste. - Service was slow. Would give it another try, but might try something different if in the area again.”

“Loved the Halibut... My only complaint would be the portion size. If your going to downsize the Halibut portion because of a coupon@ 10.95 for two don't do it. Now I am concerned that next time when paying the full price the portion again will be small. I would sooner pay the full price than have my fish reduced in size. It was my first visit to the location and hopefully not my last. The restaurant , cleanliness, service, quality of food was good...except don't cheap out on your specials!! Mike”

“When you first walk in, you walk straight into the dining area. The seating area to wait for your table is near the back of the restaurant, near the washrooms. This became a problem because it got really congested at the front door and people did not know what to do. The menu is a painted wall – it’s a nice feature, but you would have to get up from your seat to see the entire thing. We got the family style meal, which came with 4 pieces of fish and fries and coleslaw. I would recommend ordering this way if you are 2 people, it is cheaper than ordering 2 regular meals. It was filling, and we even took the rest home. The food was good, the fish was crispy and cooked perfectly. The décor is really bright with a lot of natural light. When it came time to pay, the servers didn’t really make any eye contact. After about 10 minutes of waiting, we just got up and paid at the desk. We had to show them which table we were at so they could remember what we ordered. We also had to get our own take out container and pack it ourselves.”

“Great place for a mix of Asian cuisine. Vibrant presentation of food, friendly staff. The flavour profile I can say is as authentic as it gets. The owner, Jimmy, knows his sushi and the quality of fish is always high. Highly recommended.”

“I was in last night with my husband and family. My server was excellent. Although the food may not have been great she made our experience worth the trip. She apologized for our disappointment and gave us a dessert to make up for it. She was very genuine and professional. The place was clean and seemed organized.”

“We came today for lunch and it was very good. There was a variety of selection on the menu and was reasonably priced. The service was fairly quick and portions were satisfying. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we will definitely return. A great place to stop when out on the boat!”

“Great BBQ. I had the combo platter. The ribs were amazing, fall off the bone, juicy with a yummy sauce. The chicken and pulled pork were good as well. I would pass on the brisket. It was tough and flavorless. The fries were crispy. The Cole slaw was not very flavorful but I added some vinegar and it perked right up. I would definitely come back again! It is a relaxed sports bar type of atmosphere.”

“Best pecan tart I have ever had! Also, their scones with whipped cream and house made strawberry jam were delectable. I had the chicken salad sandwich as well, which was delicious. Service was friendly, and the coffee was fresh. Just a nice little cafe all around! I do recommend taking home their tarts, scones and their house made cranberry chutney, which is very flavorful and pleasantly tart. Update: somehow their delicious tarts and scones got better! Their cranberry scones were loaded with cranberries, and the pecan tart was warm and gooey on the inside. I very much suggest going here for lunch.”

“A hopping busy pub, live music on Fridays. Lots of people coming through here. The food is consistent pub food, big menu with lots of variety, even gluten free options. I usually get the veggie curry which is great because they use fresh vegetables, not frozen. If you like a high energy atmosphere this is the place for you. People seem to have a good time.”
