“The best way to go back n forth to Manitoulin Islands from mainland Ontario. Magnificent sights through out the route and a very cool ferry with a huge parking lot for around 150 cars. There is a nice floating restaurant on the cruise and some really good seating spots on the rear side of the boat. The reservations are almost a must as if gets totally full on almost all weekends. Total of 3 trips per day from both sides are planned well to cater to all your plans and definitely worth the experience. Definitely recommend this route instead of going all the way up North through the road bridge in Little Currents. Not too much of time difference but a lot more convenient and relaxing journey worth every penny.”

“I stopped by Shorty's for a late lunch. Shorty's has a variety of buns to choose from for your sandwich. I'm a fan of fresh Portuguese buns and chose that for my sandwich, but will have to go back to try their other buns, like their cheese bun. I had the Italiano sandwich, which was quite good, though I personally feel it could have done with a bit more of a generous helping of the toppings on the sandwich. Overall though, it was good and I plan on returning to try more of the options, like their daily specials that they have. For the price, I would definitely recommend Shorty's if you work nearby or are hungry and in the area.”

“I agree with another commenter -- the food is really over-seasoned with garlic or something. The portion sizes are good and the food was good otherwise. Another thing I noticed when entering the place was that the stench of sewage was overwhelming in the parking lot. I am not sure if it's their own septic field that has gas escaping, or a neighboring building, but either way when you are about to eat that's not very appetizing, and regardless of whose fault the smell is, it's there on the way in. I also noticed the machine prompted me for a tip -- this shouldn't be the case unless there is a sit-down restaurant with table service. So I didn't appreciate the tip culture. On the other hand, the staff were friendly enough. So I have removed 1 star for the parking lot smell and the tip machine (atmosphere), and another star for the food being over-seasoned.”

“My husband and I just left Coconut Joes and it was the kind of meal, where you want to hug the chef after! The meal was so delicious, we didn’t want it to end! We had the coconut shrimp, mussels and all three tacos and we had all positive things to say about them! The drinks were so yummy and the details the bartender put on them were so cute and made the experience that much better! Our server Lex was wonderful! She was very informative and did such a wonderful job making our experience so great! Michael the owner was there while we were enjoying our meal and it was so nice to see him interacting with costumers and you could see his passion towards his restaurant! Thank you for the best experience, we can’t wait to return!! Plus it was our honeymoon so it made it so much better!!!”

“We had a wonderful time here. The service was excellent. The oysters are the best quality I've had in Ottawa, with the fresh horseradish too! We really appreciated them changing the wine out for us, we didn't like it. And it was my fault, I said it was okay so they poured the glasses and then we realized we really didn't like it. “We were a group of 3 and ordered the chicken corn soup which tasted great, sizzling black pepper beef steak with good portions of steak, spicy garnished chicken which had generous portions of fried as well as shredded chicken with sugar snap peas, vegetable fried rice, and chicken wings which were crispy and juicy at the same time! Overall, food was decent and tasted food. I felt it lacked a bit of flavor and would have done better with a few dashes of sauce & salt. Service was fast and friendly. I would visit again to try more of the menu items.”

“Came here to celebrate my mom’s birthday. A few things to note: 1. Food was fantastic; we got a variety of dishes (see photos) such as: general Tao chicken, crispy beef, chicken with black bean sauce, spicy ginger chicken, fried noodle with vegetables (no picture), spring rolls and chicken with corn soup (no picture). Every single dish was a hit with the group. 2. Our waitress was a gem! The place was quite busy and she was the only server; we over heard her tell another table they the other server called in sick last minute and therefore she was alone. With this ordeal, she was so pleasant with a smile on her face and just extremely personable. 3. The atmosphere is cozy … a little tight as it’s a small restaurant but cozy”

“**** Solid 4.5 Stars **** Toronto pho connoisseur in Ottawa looking for a pho fix. Decided on Saigon Boy due to the close proximity to my downtown hotel, positive reviews, and the fact that they have beef tendon. Lesser pho restaurants don't offer tendon and mostly stick to rare beef, brisket, and beef balls so I knew they were more on the "authentic" side. I arrived on a Saturday evening in the thick of dinner hour. The restaurant was full and they had a party of 4 waiting for a table - a good sign. Thankfully they had a small table available and I was able to be seated immediately. I ordered a medium size rare beef and tendon pho. I felt the topping portions were generous and did not feel as though they skimped out at all. The rare beef was some of the best I've had - well sliced thin and very tender. The tendon was also perfect bite sized, very tender and delicious. The broth was on the lighter side from what I am used to - it could've used a touch more salt to suit my taste. I added some table black pepper to perk up my broth. My only *very* minor and picky criticisms: - they don't serve sawtooth coriander with the basil and beansprouts - they don't use authentic Huy Fong sriracha sauce - it was some other sriracha that is spicier than Huy Fong which I didn't mind at all Cash and debit only. Ample street parking.”

“Outstanding first experience at this new sandwich place on Somerset! The quality of the ingredients are top notch, lots of fresh mozzarella on the sandwich. I got the tacchino tricolore and loved every bite. It is MASSIVE, like 2 big sandwiches in 1! Lots of meat, and the pistachio cream was so good, kind of like pesto. I'm spreading the word about this literal hidden gem (pick up window is down the laneway and in the backyard). Can't wait to go back! Thank youuuuu”

“My grandma and I stopped into Antonios' Grill after stopping for gas on the way back to North Bay. We stopped on at 2:00pm on a Monday, it wasn't vary busy. Their was music on that really added to the good atmosphere in the restaurant. The waitress was very nice and friendly. The service was great! The food is delicious, and didn't take too long to come out. The portion sizes were perfect, and the food was delicious! I highly recommend the Bacon cheeseburger, served with fries & gravy!”

“My first time in life of pie today, and I have to say I was expecting there to be lots of pies to select to have a piece of pie but seems like they sell more whole pies rather than by the slice. They did have many desserts to pick from, so we had a blondie and a brownie thé blondie was a bit stale but still good and we had the drip coffee and that was also good. The service was great, very friendly staff. Atmosphere could be a bit better tight space, tables weren’t the cleanest, not many tables.”
