“I visited this winery a little more than a month ago and had forgotten to post a review. Thankfully I took notes during my visit. From what I have noted, the grounds and vineyards are very scenic, centered around a century old house on the top of a hill and the Niagara escarpment looming behind the said house. The food was delicious, portioned nicely and matched well with the wine that was chosen for myself and my friends. The service was really good - our waitress was great and was very helpful providing answers to our many questions. The winery has taken ample precautions to counter COVID. Hand sanitizer is available, all staff wear masks even when outside, and I believe some staff were wearing gloves as well. I have seen the staff, on two different occasions, spend at least 5 minutes to thoroughly clean and sanitize a table after guests have completed their meal and left - well done! Overall, I had a great time at this winery and would recommend this to my friends and family as a place to check out.”

“If you are going on a wine tasting tour, be sure to make this winery one of your stops! The wine is great but they also have an amazing view over the vineyard. I love the way they designed the building with a glass wall a huge windows so you can overlook the vineyard. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.”

“This place was absolutely gorgeous, the staff was so super and so friendly. The knowledge of the Staff and the time that they took to talk to the group of us and explain the whole process of the wine making and right down to the different in the hours each vine received each day in the sunshine will effect the sugars or lack of sugars in the grapes. It was the best place to learn how to understand the wine making process and how the weather and everything down to the soul counts for the taste of each wine. Definitely will return.”

“I really enjoyed this short hike to both the upper and lower falls. The mill, ball family legacy, and geological history was all very interesting. Beautiful surroundings. Be careful at the falls. Many are wandering over the railings to get a closer shot, or crossing the falls to get the opposite bank. Very rocky, and slippery. Not worth it. The ruins and large fallen boulders covered in moss at the escarpment causes the imagination to wander. Like a scene from lotr.”

“Had a great experience with the wine tasting and some food out on the decking over looking the vineyards and the ambiance was so nice and the service was good. The knowledge of the wine making was not as great as the angels gate. But was still a great experience. The grounds are very nice, I find that the smaller vineyards are a much better experience then the larger ones. It seems to be a more personal experience, the larger ones, Jackson Triggs seems to just want you in and out. The bigger ones are more of a big business feeling and more of a commercial style wine yard.”

“With the abnormally warm November weather, my wife and I decided to take a trip to the Niagara region and enjoy the views and tastes it has to offer. We took a stroll up the winding drive to the winery on top of the hill and marvelled at the views of Lake Erie spanning for kilometers all the way across to Toronto. Just a breathtaking view. As we made our way inside and dealt with all Covid precautions to ensure safety, we were greeted by Jasmine who would later guide us through our tastings. She was a delight and full of insight and knowledge and really made the experience. Cheri the General Manager also came over to greet us and find out how our experience was. Such a warm welcome from the staff here! And the wines were great too! After all was said and done, we happily strolled back down the lane, enjoying the views, with our hands full of bottles of wine to explore and enjoy. We can't wait to visit the region again and will definitely be dropping in for the warm greetings of the team at Megalomaniac!”
