Chat Bar 九号小院

Great little cozy skewer bar on Main Street. The wait could be long on weekends, but they take down your phone number and there’s a seating area with tea and markers for colouring to pass time, which you can then pin onto the walls.

The staff was friendly and the food was great. It’s a little bit on the pricey side and the skewers are small, but each order comes with 4 skewers. The cucumber appetizer was definitely a favourite, and the beef tendon with bean curd was alright. The stone pot dry noodles were actually pretty good as well. The scallops with vermicelli seems like a favorite for everyone, and although delicious, I did find it extremely salty! I would definitely come back when craving for meats on a stick and small plates to share.

Food is pretty good. Chicken wings, lamb kabobs, sweet sausage and rice cake on stick were my favorites. I am not huge sea food fan but my friends said the scallops with vermiculite was good too. Not very salty and MSG, didn't feel very thirsty afterward is a big plus. Service was good, food came fast. Just space inside is a bit tight when it's packed. I definitely will come again.

Meat on a stick! Nothing more to say. Meat was seasoned well and many varieties. Definitely recommend the marbled pork instead of the regular pork.

Place is small cozy, but definitely go early to go a table earlier. Food comes quick so the wait isn't too bad. Go in small groups tho, place isnt too friendly for big groups unless you book early.
