“Amazing Hakka food, one of my all time favourites (from previous experience in the GTA). The food here was absolutely delicious and fully met my expectations. It was very tasty. I love the Manchurian chicken and more than anything else. I especially loved the hot and sour chicken soup. Savory and filling serving sizes were generous and loved by me. My wife, my daughter-in-law and my grandkids. We will definitely be back and highly recommended to anybody. “Located in a quiet plaza, this place is pretty nice and clean inside, lots of dining area as it looks like most are take outs. Staff are nice orders came out quick and super hot. Food is tasty even the tiny eggrolls, athough small and not much inside its great for a little snack. Everything so far from here has been delicious 😉”

“I finally was able to try the food from Hakka Town. After living in Markham and Toronto before moving to Barrie, I would often get Hakka Food from so many of the Hakka places in Markham and Scarborough, (Frederick's, Lin Garden, Tangerine, Hakka Cottage, etc). The food at Hakka Town is amazing, I ordered the Chili Chicken (hot) and the Hakka Town Chicken Noodles. The taste is amazing it is easily as good as anything I have had in the city, if not better. I highly recommend Hakka Town, I can not wait to go back and try more items off the menu. If you go in by the Service Ontario entrance it is located to the left up the stairs (or elevator) on the left. Do yourself a faviur and go try some of this amazing food! There are a few tables in the aisle like a food court. I took it home to eat.”

“I absolutely loved my experience today at The Vegan Pantry! From the moment I walked up I just knew it would be a special spot. I was amazed upon walking in how beautiful the front of house was and then also when I walked into the dining area. Very clean, and friendly atmosphere. I loved the focus on animals and the positive aspects of being vegan, especially as an ethical vegan. I tried the Hawaiian panzorotti and was amazed by the flavour. The crust alone was out of this world. Before leaving I had to grab some dessert of course and left with two snickers bars and a butterfingers (not all for me I brought some for friends)!!! I’m from Windsor so won’t be able to frequent very often but absolutely can’t wait to go back! 💖”

“We had palak paneer, chana masala, shrimp curry, garlic naan, falooda, and a mango lassi. The major hit was the shrimp curry! Great flavour! The chana masala was light and fresh. The palak paneer was nice and spicy. The mango lassi tasted like it was made with a powder mango, not sure if thats the case. The taste was decent though. The falooda, I've never had before, and I really enjoyed it! The garlic naan was fantastic 👏 😋 the staff was very kind and made good suggestions. Overall I definitely recommend giving it a try!”

“I scream, you scream! We all scream for ice cream! On such a hot day, there are few things better than an ice cold treat. In Barrie, Kawartha Dairy is a classic parlour just a short drive from the beachfront. The shop has over 40 ice cream flavours to suit your heart’s desire. Initially we had trouble picking & eventually staff forgot about us. Salty Caramel Truffle and Moose Tracks are popular flavours. We stacked both fresh scoops in a small size cup that’s still huge! Each spoonful is fairly rich & creamy. The salt in the caramel balanced one another well (highly recommend), while Moose Tracks was a chocolate delight to satisfy the sweet tooth. Milkshakes can also be made from any scoop. We tried the new Pistachio Almond in this form. The almond slices added a crunch to the green pistachio shake although flavours were a bit artificial. All-in-all, this visit put us in a good summer vibe!”

“We never had a canele before but it is now a family favourite we will order many times in the future. Chewy on the outside, soft and custardy in the middle, these delicious little cakes have a flavour similar to creme brule and were decorated with artistic, high quality chocolate designs. “Decided to order take out and as luck would have it through the UBER EATS app they had buy 1 get 1 free. Ordered the Tokyo Beef Poutine. Sweet Teriyaki Beef and added shrimp. This was served on a bed of golden fries and drizzled with lime aioli! OMG sooo good that I'm in a food coma! Seriously though the food was so good. “For the last 7 years i changed my diet and became vegan . The only hard part for me of turning vegan was not eating cheese products. I tried all type of diffeent companies that make vegan cheese ( wont mention their name ) but they all had after taste that made me hate it . I kept wishing for the taste of creaminess cream cheese or sour cream but i couldn't find it ( regardless of price). Finaly i was very happy to try tofutti products. First i tried only the cream cheese and i was like wow . No after taste. I was like wow it is creamy. I was like wow it taste so good . I doubled looked at the cover of the container to make sure o didnt buy a real dairy cream cheese and i saw it is dairy free. I was so happy i decided to try the sour cream and i was even more happy as it was amizing . The last thing i was up to try is their cheddar cheese and all american cheese , and i did . I can say they were both amizing with no after taste. Finally i can make myself a French toast with out the after taste . I love this company products, they are the best . It make it easy being vegan ( they have a frozen desert that is not vegan so please check the label) . I will highly recomend try their product you wont be disappointed. I never try their ice cream as i am not in to ice cream so i cant say if it is good or not . I wish that some how they will come out with a egg like substitute that i can make a vegan omelet and vegan life will be perfect. “This place is our 'go-to' for most of our appetite. As a person with sweet tooth, I love their cheesecakes and chocolate pastries. They taste absolutely awesome. They have a whole range of cookies, pastries, cheesecakes, briskets etc. In regards to their snack choices, they serve specials every week and few of my favorites are Beef briskets, Turkey Sandwich and Beef patties (spicy). Ice creams would open with seating arrangements from April and customized cakes as well. Tammy has been here since 5 months and she's a very good host. They are right across from the Cineplex in the same plaza. I love this place....”
