“Booked a room on the Victoria Day long weekend to celebrate my anniversary. Arrived and saw that there was a wedding taking place that evening. I paid to upgrade to a room with a view and was placed in a hallway where all of the wedding guests were staying. We were up all night because of the loud noises the wedding guests were making, which understandably, it is a wedding. However, had we known the whole hotel was booked due to a wedding we would not have stayed that night or paid extra for a room with a view. I approached the front desk with this same feedback and received a response of “I’m sorry.” The hotel had ample opportunity to let us know ahead of time that this wedding was taking place, but they did not. The situation was not handled professionally and due to this, I will not be returning. I visit Port Severn quite often and there are tons of other accommodations that I’m sure will treat their visitors with more respect.”

“Stopped on way home from picking our son up from camp in Rosseau. We saw the large BREAKFAST sign and this is what we were looking for at 1045am. Seated next to the water on the beautiful patio. The waitress greeted us and brought us lunch/dinner menus. We thought about leaving then figured it was probably past the breakfast hours everywhere. We all ordered burgers / sandwiches with fries / salad. The salad bar was fresh and very good. Lots of non salad stuff like bean salad, cottage cheese, coleslaw, and beets too. Delicious. Our burgers and wraps were very good. While eating we saw another table ask for breakfast menus. Dang!!! We should never have assumed we missed it! Will have to remember to ask next time if we need to know something. Next summer for BREAKFAST!”

“The place is beautiful and peaceful. Perfect for family's. Housing is all wood design with fireplace. Back as large porch with a perfect few of the massive lake with canoes on the ready for anyone to use. Over all I would tell as many people as possible to come at least once.”

“Amazing place for friends and family to go to have fun and enjoy the cottage life without paying a lot to rent one. It is right by the river with beautiful views and a nice warm fireplace right by the water to create some tasty s'mores. In the summer as well there is an outdoor pool just in case you want to cool down. Paired with the BBQ to make some good dinner I could not ask anymore from Forest Glen Resort. Will definitely come back.”

“My husband, best friend and I stayed here on the August long weekend for my birthday. We ended up booking last minute, and the owner Steve was so accommodating. He took us to the site, got us set up with hydro, ice and firewood. The campground is pretty far back off the main road, so you can't hear any traffic, which really makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. It's also only a short trip into town if you ever needed anything. Our site was beautiful- it was right on the water. The sunrise/sets were so pretty. The water is weedy, but the seasonal campers said with a boat once you get further out, its much better. We don't have a boat and so wish we did, but we didn't mind going in the water to quickly cool off! We were told the fishing is fantastic, so if you are looking for a place to camp and fish... Matchedash is your spot! There are public bathrooms and showers, rustic but clean! The sites are large and grassy, if you're sleeping in a tent no need to worry about sleeping on rocks! We also brought our german shepherd--the campground is dog friendly, they just have to be leashed. On certain nights Steve offers dinners you can purchase and have delivered to your site- pizza, lasagna, shepherd's pie etc. The seasonal campers were the nicest people :) Many of them came over to say hello and see how we liked it there. We ended up forming a few friendships with such cool people, and we truly can't wait to go camping at Matchedash next year!”

The owner, Emma, has made this place so homey and beautiful. The house is filled with so many quilting ideas that easily inspire others. Thank you again for such a wonderful stay!
