“I had a great weekend with Scott and my class mates. Leaning about the theory, the steps, the systems and business side of it all. We also had the opportunity to get some hands on training, learning how to set up the different racking systems and roof top application and how to hook it all up. Scott also took the time to make sure that we all understood each step, he was very patient and he made sure we understood before moving forward. Amazing experience! Much Appreciation Scott! Cheer, Alex”

“When you are looking to get away from the busy city and really want a remote wilderness experience, than I would recommend Shooting Star Camp. Part of what makes this area so special is the remote nature of the cabins. Having being going up annually for over 10 years, I find it to be a place that you can truly unwind and soak up nature. You are likely to see loons, eagles, beavers, and may even see a moose or a bear on the Spanish River. If you like fishing, than this area gets so little fishing pressure, that using live bait is almost like cheating. It is quite easy to catch over 20 fish a day. The quality and quantity of the fishing I have only ever found at a fly in lodge. The train in experience is both comfortable and convenient and more recently the train service has changed staff, and it is on time and reliable. Betsy and Shane have over 50 years of experience in running Shooting Star Camp, and when I recently went up with my family, they were very accommodating and thoughtful about how they might make our trip better. It's not everyone that wants to go away to a cabin that has no running water, or electricity, but that doesn't mean it is not comfortable, and you can cook on the propane stove and keep your food cold in the fridge. The lack of cell phone reception means that everyone isn't distracted and it is part of the reason that I chose this trip with my family. Going to Shooting Star Camp is about appreciating the simple things, with world class views and pristine untouched wilderness. I highly recommend it.”

“This letter is in praise of the Birch Island Construction Company owned by WRFN, who masterfully fulfilled a sizeable renovation on our home over an eleven day period, out of season, and in minus zero temperatures. They have since been available to complete follow-up touch ups and to bring about a great result in the overall renovation effort. We are more than happy. A heartfelt thank you to Bill Moroz, Manager, and the hardworking crew who brought unity and laughter to the worksite everyday: Pete, Desmond, Ron, Ken, Skylar, Jason, Joe, Floyd and Mathew. “Awesome spot to stay, especially if you're going backcountry camping through Killarney. We camped here the first night and it was the perfect launch spot for our group the next morning. Washrooms, canoe rentals, paddles and life jackets, among many more items. It was a fabulous spot on a very beautiful plot of land. On our return from Killarney we were stranded and Josh was kind enough to assist us in getting back to Widgawa Lodge. All of our experiences with here were wonderful, we would stay here again in a heartbeat.”

“Very steep and rocky. Only go if you are in good shape and can balance well. However, if you are able the view is spectacular. If the hike seems too difficult drive a bit further up Willisville rd and there will be a pull off on the right hand side. From there, you can see a beautiful view of the highway and surrounding area.”

“Unique geography for Ontario. Great views of Highway 6 leading up to Manitoulin Island. Use caution when turning onto Willisville Road from Highway 6. Steep climb onto the mountain. Will have to hike the hill next time we are there.”

“This is the cutest little cafe I've seen in a long time. It's in a reclaimed church and the space is warm and cozy. The owners were super friendly and the food was reasonably priced and delicious! I wish this was closer to home, it would be my favorite place.”

“We have had an amazing time at Charlton Lake Camp in the first week of July. It's quiet and peaceful, surrounded by lakes that offer great fishing. There are numerous hikes in the area which open beautiful views. The owners are very professional and will do their best to ensure you have a comfortable stay. Definitely coming back next year!”

“We were pleasantly surprised with the beauty of this park! It’s not very well known compared to some of the larger provincial parks but the trails and swimming areas were fantastic. Most of the sites were occupied by RVs but we were one of the few who pitched tents. Washrooms were very clean during the pandemic which we appreciated. The beach areas were lovely with great views of the coniferous trees. It was shallow for a long stretch, perfect for those who like to play frisbee or football! You could hear the highway faintly but it didn’t take away from the experience in my opinion. We hiked the Osprey Heights trail during our stay and it was quite the trek! A bit of difficult uphill climbing and could be dangerous if wet but well worth the hike overall. The lookout point was a great place to stop for lunch. I just wish there was more than one picnic table our lunchtime overlapped with another couple. It took about 3 hours to complete the entire hike, including the time it took us to stop and eat.”

“This is our fourth time staying at Lang Lake Resort to fish. Beautiful lake and the fishing is amazing. The cottage had all we needed. The only thing missing was a screened in porch but next time we can just bring up ours and set it up on the deck.”
