Great experience with volunteer researchers providing tour and showing most netting and banding of birds.
Amazing place and even more amazing volunteers! We had a great visit and learned a lot from the very knowledgable volunteers. Thank you for taking the time to educate our group!
The stewards were very knowledgeable and amiable. It was my first experience with this sort of interaction. It was hands on, in that a warbler was banded while there and we were privy to the process. As well, I held the bird before releasing it.
Bird banding at the McKellar Island Bird Observatory is a great experience for people of all ages. You can drop in any morning during the spring and fall migratory seasons (except when raining or with high winds), and enjoy the outdoors while you learn about and interact with the birds that fly though. I highly recommend it to any nature lovers.
Fantastic place to see our local song birds during the spring and summer. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly
