“Was stuck in a snow storm looking for a place to pull over for a bit when I found the northland motel! Close to 1 in the morning and I called to see if I could get a room. Really great price, but I think the best part of finding this motel was being greeted by the owner. He was kind, caring, and very cheerful. Happy to get to rest up and be ready for the rest of my drive in the morning :)”

“Stayed at Garden Island the last week of July. I usually camp at this end of the lake (best fishing area). Thats the reason I picked Garden Island to bring along my wife Nicole, she’s not into camping or a lot of fishing, so lodge was a must. She does love reading her book on the boat and only fishes when the bites on. Very happy we chose Garden Island it was perfect. Mike is a great host and makes sure we had everything we need, cabins are cleaned daily, new chef Mo in the camp, making 5 star meals, very impressed with the food and table service, we eat in some nice restaurants in Toronto and the food was at par or better. We stayed in a cabin dockside west, It was comfortable not huge, but we only slept in the room. In the day went fishing or boat trips explored the top ends of the lake. After fishing we sat around the new deck that was built around the docks with new Muskoka chairs and had our cocktail hour. It only rained one day for us, on that day we went up to the main lodge and played cards. Every night when we came in from fishing, staff would welcome us home secure the boat and clean the fish for us(I loved not cleaning the fish). In the evening we hit the wood burning Sauna and jumped into the lake or had a camp fire. The fishing was good my wife and I caught on average 20+ walleye and 20 bass and a few pike per day. Are biggest walleye was 24 inch(I think the big boys are deeper this time of year) but we caught a lot of fish. The small mouth bass where huge 16 inches up, they are a lot of fun to catch. We are glade we did this wonderful experience, and will be back again. Thank you for a great Summer Holiday Garden Island Lodge Gerry and Nicole”
