We arrived at this spot for dinner. This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. The staff members were extremely nice and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We enjoyed every moment and we shall definitely come back again. We recommend this place to all.
Simon's Wok is a local friendly vegetarian/vegan Ch'an Buddhist restaurant, which means it is perfect for those with garlic, onion or pungents aversion/allergies.
I have had the pleasure of visiting Simon's Wok twice; once for dinner and the other for take out. The food did not disappoint. The vegetarian appetizers were delicious. Their crispy bean crud (vegetarian duck) was my favourite. The seaweed soup with carrots and tofu felt very nourishing. The size small soup was surprisingly filling! It was perfect with a side of brown rice!
Look forward to visiting Simon's Wok again once this physical distancing ends!
I never knew mushrooms could be so flavourful and each type distinct in taste. This place knows their veggie options and executed well! Soups and dry dishes all had great flavour!
As a vegan let me just tell you it is hard to find decent vegan Asian dishes especially of the Chinese variety. What really enticed me to Simon's Wok was the vegan chicken balls with sweat and sour sauce. That dish alone made the trip worth it to me. I know not the healthiest of foods but it hit the spot. The do offer a varied menu with a lot of options and all vegan takes on the usual suspects of Chinese dishes.
Be warned that they only take cash (but will accept etransfers which was a great option just make sure you ask ahead if you need to do this or bring cash) and my only other criticism was that we did have to wait a while for the food. Other than that if you are in the mood for vegan takes on standard North American style Chinese dishes this place will suit your needs without breaking the bank.
