With decades of experience in karate and a bachelor's in education, Jeff is approachable, personable and lives what he teaches. He contributes his expertise to every class, with a range of students from 3 years of age to retirement all benefitting immensely from his experience and common touch. The ciricuulum focuses on fitness, improvement in mental stamina and a healthy balance. It is welcoming for those wishing to start and to its credit has built a great group of senior students in its relatively short time in the area. The Northern Karate program is a large organization in the GTA with a balanced approach to martial arts that favours inclusiveness, personal best and a diversity of abilities over more rigid traditional models. The community has embraced the dojo and rgua approach with many, many children's classes available, which are well attended. Children still make up most of the dojo's students and are a tribute to how approachable this style of karate is and how it embraces fun at its core. It has also proven popular and effective for adults of any fitness level to challenge themselves. The balance of mental and physical challenges can keep interest for years with always more of the art to learn. Under the tuitelege here, both kids and adults continue to learn important lessons about being better and healthier people.”

“I've had both my kids go here over the years and they do an excellent job. The staff, although recently changed over, is really great and caring and take the time to help out kids who are having a tough time. They also do movie nights once a month at the daycare for $25 a child so its a nice night out for parents and the kids love it! Think of it as group babysitting. The most important thing is after I drop off my son I'm never worried about him as I know he's in good hands.”

“Ok so its not the worst school but its far from the best. The teachers are friendly and kind. It goes up to grade 8. The principal is trying his absolute best to make the school better. With that being said there are many flaws with the school like,no air conditioning, horrible field for playing soccer, bumpy pavement, lack of equipment (although it is improving in that), students constantly swearing and fighting the teachers, and the fact that the classes are so oversized.”
