“Nice stop if you are in the area, but I would not recommend driving out of your way to get here. Don't go down Lighthouse Rd. Private Road at the end. There is a place to park just to the right of that road and a boardwalk up to the Lighthouse.”

“The caretakers are wonderful people who care about the community and the history, I can't thank them enough for helping me locate my grandmother's grave. Almost 74 years after she passed, she has a marker, now to get a headstone. The history behind the church and cemetery makes it more than just a beautiful site.”

“Great view sometimes it's difficult to get a parking spot in peak days but overall you can find a spot and enjoy time some giant ships cruise come over and you can enjoy seeing it... after high tides you can find sea shells and other sea things....”

“I had a wonderful 8 night stay at the Singing Sands in July. Our room was spotlessly clean and comfortable. And the view from our balcony room was spectacular! The motel owners could not be kinder and went out of their way to help us with any request. You cannot beat the value. Although the furnishings are dated, you can channel your inner Don Draper and pretend it's the 1970s again! Just a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive from Basin Head beach and 12 minutes from the town of Souris. I also recommend the fun labyrinth behind the motel. We will definitely be back.”

“This beach is pure awesomeness. The water was a little chilly at 11°C [51°F] one day and 13°C [55°F] another day in the 1st week of July, but if you go for a short jog to get your heart rate up before going in for a plunge in the "river" when the tide is rising, you will have a heck of a lot of fun, just watch out for occasional jellyfish. I LOVED jumping into the "tidal river." After my 1st plunge, I was use to the water temperature and stayed in as long as I didn't need to get out to chase down one of my kids. As a jogger, I and my 4 year old, really enjoyed running barefoot down the sandy beach. You have to jog in dry sand to make it "sing" but moist sand is much less taxing to run on. My kids and spouse loved the beach too; I got a 7, 4, and 2 year old - we didn't let the kids jump in the "tidal river" as they are not good enough swimmers yet. My 4 year old and 2 year old appeared like they wanted to jump in, so keep a close eye on your little ones. My 4 year old tried going up the dunes, so watch your kids for that as we are not supposed to go up the dunes, the "grass" near the dunes is sharp and I think it slightly cut my foot when I was grabbing my kid from ascending the dunes. My spouse said it was one of the best beaches she had ever been to; and I feel the same. Basin Head is up there with a beach we went to on the archeapelago of Okinawa, just South of Japan's mainland, when we took a ferry from Naha to a tiny archipelago island with excellent snorkeling. There must have been 5 to 7 lifeguards on duty. Which is good for kids or overconfident swimmers. There is a place "up the hill" where you can get food like pokè bowls, beer, poutine, etc.. if you get hungry, at reasonable prices and with a good view of the beach/cliffs and in the shade.”

“Such a beautiful setting. I had the good fortune to go on JJ Chaisson's boat for a Fiddling Fisherman excursion. We were treated to tunes, a lobster feast and a fabulous boat ride. I highly recommend this experience! JJ and Julie are exceptional hosts and such a great team.”
